Hello John,
The initial OrderSend uses no SL value. But there are 3 ways the EA influences SL:
1.) If EA finds a new reverse order, the existing one will be closed.
2.) There are virtual stops that are set to 100 points by default.
3.) Partial buying / selling makes it possible to close part of the order. It will work after the price has touched the middle band. Use 0 if no partial close is desired. Attention! Your broker must accept the input value!

Another way is the use of TrailingStop function. I have not tested it yet.

Hi Peter,

I did some initial testing across a range of markets just to see what it worked on - I had some good results on indices and commodities but these were soon wiped out, with currencies appearing to be more consistent. I've restarted the testing on a new demo account using just currencies so will let you know results.

Hello John,

Thank you for your interest and your help. I know EA test runs are really slow, it's a problem of the indicator. Please let me know what time frame you are using. Maybe we can share the tests. Do you think it makes sense to use the same test account and calculate backtests locally?

Thanks for makemo8 for this amazing strategy. I have tested it for a while and I found that when there is a strong trend, don't trade against it.

You observed correctly. The job of the Bandwidth indicator is to prevent you from trading during a trending period. You will notice that the Bollinger band will widen during this period hence the color of the bandwidth indicator will change. You only take trade when the color of the Bandwidth indicator is yellow (low volatility).

Just not to confuse readers here, I change the color for my preference, Red (below 20) Yellow (between 20 and 40).

@ makemo8, thanks again for this system but sadly it still needs manual filtering. eg. trendline, supply/demand, price action etc. But the system definitely helps!

@Kmb I think the indicator is the same.

There's been a few really smart traders on here. I'm surprised no one has noted that many set ups have at least a 2:1 risk vs reward. Unless this method has 85% success rate, or better, I would be challenged to throw money at it. 2¢

I am goung to test your stratergy. I am just a bit worried on how long does it take to get alerts because I have been online for about 20 minutes on various paira but I can not get any alert.

I have been testing this strategy with the EA posted on this thread and the calculations on the Bollinger bands width from the EA dont match up with the BBWidth indicator. For 20% on the EA I have to set the indicator for about 5% to match the yellow and the red. What am I doing wrong?
