I've been working on configurations for this ea sharing here with you ...
I would like to know if anyone could help me put a spread limit on the ea

these settings are GBPUSD M15

Whats the problem? Spread is Ask - Bid. Spread in Points is Ask - Bid / TickSize.

But this will not work in Backtesting. Backtesting uses fixed spread, unless you use real tick data, like from Birds EA Review website.

I want a limit spread (maximum spread), to put a real account. not for backtesting.

I don't normally do any coding for other traders, but this was a 5 minute hack. The 2 lines of code that I added are highlighted in the attached screenshots.
It's only a best guess, as I haven't looked at the code in any detail, nor done any testing. It is what it is.

(I don't like grids/martingales, hence I won't be using the EA).

[EDIT] Note: I compiled this (the attached MQ4) using Metaeditor/compiler build 509 (see this), and there were no errors. However, compiling using the latest builds generates a number of warning errors. Hence I've also attached the EX4 file from the build 509 compile, for anyone who wants the error-free version.

Yes, it looks like it will do the required job.

Yes, Jim Dandy (e.g. here here here) has created some very good educational material on MQL4 programming.
Or folk preferring EA generators could try any of FXDreema, EAtree or Molanis.

Hello Billargus,

Are you still using this EA? Back tests results are amazing but getting errors while back test. "Order Modify Error 130" continuously repeating.
Did you made any changes in the code again?
