This makes not much sense.

Why would they want you to fail? I mean in the end they want you to trade THEIR money so I guess they will do everything necessary to make sure you just wasn't lucky that time and you are truly able to make consistent profits.

I see nothing wrong there.

the model's main objective isnt to find profitable, serious traders with a track record to fund.
this prop model is geared toward hopeful noobs with 400$ in the pocket who think they will make a greatest living from a 40k, where in about just 1 mistake or small slip ends your journey and back to sq#1.
there is always, always another trade!!

there is free money money to be made just by collecting fees whithout putting their money to any risk.

IF they will do everything necessary to get good traders, the first thing is to do free Challenge
- there is not fee for the Challenge.

You may be right. But charging a fee is a common practice for such incentives. I think it helps to separate the wheat from the chaff right at the beginning. Otherwise you (as the funder) spend more time dealing with lots of "noise".
Just have a look at TopstepTrader -> https://www.topsteptrader.com/learn-how/ ... They are by far the most successful and well-known platform for funded traders and they handle it the same way.

i was thinking exactly to that,and kinda make sense.but i must agree this way of business is not bad at all.very atracting(for newbies).

thank you for your constant willingness to help out with your analysis with DAX..............once you join your competition do you offer forex pair analysis to discuss with other traders who are in the process of being funded or also those who have been funded?

God willing soon I might jump in to do one of your competitions to see how I would do as well as to strive to get funded to join your team not to mention also getting members on here to share our experiences of your company..........

would be good karma if the more experienced traders would assist like they have been doing with good medium term trades to analyze and succeed with first passing the competition and eventually earning with their program which is something i'm considering joining the competition to see if they are legit if/when I can pass their requirements.

ever think that if you have the capital to invest + you have the spot on analysis, why would you not invest it yourself?
if DAX or other analysis so spot on, it is easier to trade your capital and keep 100% profit, vs giving out your capital.

these type of prop offers are carrots on a stick.
nothing that you cant do with your 28k personal capital ( vs the 40k given) without being fully restricted...if you know what you are doing.
dont have 28k?
woudl you have 300-400$ instead to keep jumping hoops, and lose all in a blink by having 1% extra DD, or opening slightly larger position than you should, or simple being a bad trader...
of course, even if you make the trial, being a bad trader you will be out of the prop setup for the same one mistake in the blink of an eye.
but
you can of course always get back: just pay another time the fee!

that said, FTMO not sounding any worse than the rest...only it doesnt sound any better than the rest.
a simple copycat of an earlier competitor.
all the same nothing new.
like the others. FTMO arent looking for profitable, professional traders.
they are looking to sell a dream for the noob crowd with a couple hundreds in the pocket. mostly first word, where that is not considered much, just like buying lottery.
what if.
not really wrong. i have yet to meet a lottery winner, or for that matter a successful trader who hit it big with any of these run of the mill 'prop trading firms'.
