Here we do not recommend or insist or say that that someone knows for sure. That's why we say as Akt says: If I may... And maybe my thoughts could be usefull or just be taken in consideration. I want to tell that I've tried to consider SaD trades on TF lower than H4. I won't anymore. Why? Take a look at forex pairs price action. It clearly distinguish intraday depending on time. Quite often, more oftern than if it could be ignored, the price changes its behavior significantly, especially at London open and Chicago open. For me it means that H1 and lower zones created in previous hours are unreliable. Almost everyday I see them violated easily. I see enough setups on W-D-H4 or higher. What I see on forums, most SaD traders trade high TF.

Thanks for the response, however, the analysis I posted here is not a trade recommendation and I don't plan to make it as one either. The posts here is basically to portray the thinking process involved prior any trade action that will be taken next. It's the analysis that I want to share and hoping that other members can spot the mistakes done due to "overlook" some of the requirements and again, I am not trying to get "approval" for such trade recommendations.

For trading in higher TF case, it's clearly depends on the traders choice... some may take lower than H1 but the "noises" will get bigger on the smaller tf but again it's not a wrong approach... it's just not recommended for new SAD traders ... from my post I use D/4H/1H sequence D for curve, 4H for trend and 1H for entry..since I am day trading then the sequence is "recommended" sequence... you may go through Akt's analysis here or videos in youtube that the sequence he selected is different based on the trading style whether you're a day trader or swing trader or a position trader ...

I'm afraid you've got me wrong. I said that my opinion should not be considered as recommendation. I just shared my observation regarding trading time trying to warn from what could be losing, hoping that it may be useful.

The imbalances are outside of the current range prices have been in from what i see. Supply is above, and fresh demand is below

As always thanks Akt for the feedback ... I just look back and found out that the price now is in the middle of the curve.. hence the sideway movement should be expected... thanks again for pointing that out... I really missed that info

The trend line on your chart would not signify momentum on the timeframe (daily) shown on your chart, it belongs on a higher timeframe

Something i am watching for on this pair is whether there will be enough profit margin for a trade
I see the levels but i am a bit weary of the profit margins for now.

The next installment in the T.I.O.F Chapters series

A big thank you to the Late Mark Douglas for elucidating the psychological concepts expressed here in a way that most psychologists and psychiatrists find hard to convey.

IS TRADING SPECULATION OR AN EXACT SCIENCE?


“The Dow is going to 24,000”, “the Euro is going to parity”, “Oil will tank this year”.

In my years as a speculator, I have come across uncountable colleagues who have made bold and audacious claims about the direction of a particular market, sometimes they are correct and other times wrong. Why is that the case? Why are they not wrong all the time they make these calls or right all the time?
Well, the most obvious answer would be because no-one knows the future with any certainty. If that is a comment that most of the trading population agree with, why then is it that when a trader loses on a trade, he gets annoyed, upset and irritated? Why does he get overly happy, over-confident or even cocky, when his calls are correct?

Did the trader actually believe the trade could fail or the call could be wrong? If yes, then why the anger? Why the disappointment?

If no, then the reason for the elation, the joy, is likely to be out of relief he/she was not wrong, out of surprise or the very real human psychological desire to be right.

So what exactly is speculation anyways? The dictionary definition reads thus: “the forming of a theory or conjecture without firm evidence”.
This sums up what “trading” is very aptly. It is worth reminding one’s self of this on a regular basis. There is no way of “predicting” where a market will go or where it will be at any point in the future. Even worse is the idea that one knows “how” prices will reach a certain level.
So why then is it that many traders come into the trading world expecting certainty in terms of their outcomes, number of trades they will get, how much money they will make, week to week, year to year?

Is it possible that the average retail trader has been burdened with these beliefs and had them ingrained into him by others before him, so much so that he/she can’t actually remember how or where these beliefs were acquired?
So, if we run with the idea that all our trading activities are speculative, without any certainty of favourable outcome, then surely there is no reason to get upset, annoyed or bitter when our activity does not go our way. The same way, it is not reasonable to get overly joyous, euphoric, over-confident or arrogant when our speculative activities (aka trading) works well for us.

Yet, we do. We all do it.

Why then? Why do we seek certainty where there is none?

The reason may be that most traders do not actually “believe” that their trading activities are speculative. The pervading belief is that trading is an exact science and predictable, or at least it should be.
There is a difference between having mental awareness of the concept that trading is speculation and actually “believing” it is. He/she has his mind set – unshakeable.

Belief is simply defined as thought that drives one’s actions. So If the trader had the mind-set “I am speculating”, the mind-set of, "every trade has an uncertain outcome", that "anything can happen", that "there is a random distribution between my wins and my losses" and not just mentally agreed with these psychological concepts but rather really believed them, meaning his awareness of them drives his actions, then he/she would trade and feel very differently, win or lose.
