Hi,

Today I missed 2 trades. 1 on USDJPY and 1 NZDUSD.

Both signals alert occurred at 6 am ET. At that time I've been in bed 30 minutes already.

Regarding GBPUSD continued to push downside. I was waiting for CCI(H1) to go to overbought area. Then go to M15 to enter a SHORT TRADE. But nothing happened.

USDJPY and NZDUSD presented a very good set up on H1.

USDJPY : The trend is up. CCI(H1) is below -100. This is a best of the best high probability to look for buy in M15.

NZDUSD : The trend is down. CCI(H1) is above 100. This is a best of the best high probability to look for sell in M15.

You can see the Japanese Yen and Kiwi came to test the CPP ( daily pivot) then rejected. This is a good place to put a trade and, I think, all professional traders wish to have it as their high probability of set up.

Today no trades. It is very hard to trade during the London session when you live in Eastern Time Zone.

Automatization could be helpful and we wouldn't miss any trade .....

Skuz, what was the Aussie pair if I can ask?

I would personally be very happy using an alert based system with manual trade implementation. That's just my opinion.
If you decide to go EA I'm happy for you but it's not my thing.

I'm hesitant to fully automate trading, I am merely considering adding an optional "Place Order on signal" feature which has some hard-wired lotsize TP and SL parameters. Personally, I like the ritual of getting a signal, using my tools and skill to go to validate/invalidate it. And then trade it. There's a satisfaction that comes when my TP is hit. But not every trader is me aye?

@DerBerliner, this does not mean I'm not keen, I just need more motivation

I don't see the edge on the 1 hour CCI to justify taking a short.

Even if it was a "secondary" signal via the CCI ( bounces of the zero mid line) I prefer to dial in on the five minute with the associated rules.

Another reason, like yourself, that I prefer to run the eyes over the screens before committing hard earned.

Yup, This trade was fired off the signal alone, I was watching telly with my favourite half, got a ping, placed a trade... fail!
I did the same with an NZDUSD trade, but was more successful.

This just highlights the downside of automation as you said

Opening the EA discussion about „autiomatization“ of Skuz‘ indi I have to clarify some points. First of all I’m not a lazy trader waiting for some spoon-feeding. So, I could be ready for sitting in front of my computer screen and trading manually. But I have a day job to do, so I use the daily TF’s only for manual trading.

At the other hand I’m convinced if we have a total mechanical system we could automatize it. Yes an EA can’t give better results than an experienced manual trader. But giving results near to the manual could be enough for being a winner.
And yes: I understand indi signals themself will be of course for Manual trading ! But who knows at which time of the day a signal (all dot in one color) will occur ? Will you really sit in front of your computer day by day 10-12 hours ? What will you say if a looser signal you took but the winner signal you missed (sleeping at night) ? In my eyes it’s impossible to do so for a longer time … for months and years … ? Imagine what you will miss in your life, you will miss much more then successful trades …..
So, it would be good, to have a test running the EA site by site with manual or semi-manual trading. Like me other interested traders are here, which could run the EA with various trade management parameters (different SL/TP, with or without BE, with or without trailing). But to start this testing we should have the EA + a plan for systematic test attention (Who, what, when … will do it).

I note you have removed the 5 minute time frame study from your final notes.
I personally still consider the five minute chart and rules valuable to the system as a whole.

Hi,

Today there is no trade from pound sterling. At the same time I've tried to use the conservative entry from MySystemForex (test only).

EURJPY

H4: The trend is down

H1: CCI is above 100

M15: 5/10 EMAs cross down and confirmed by MACD(3.7.1) < 0 + stoch cross down. But MACD(12.26.9) hist. is already below the zero level at the previous candle.

This cancelled the trade.We want the MACD hist is above the zero level and decreases its value.

Hey Moonie

Yes, I completed the tasks on the todo list, but the CCi change I made for Sai makes rule 4 stricter and so we get fewer, but stronger, signals. I'm just testing last weeks version against this one to make sure I didn't break anything.

I'll upload when I'm confident it's working as expected

i admire your constant tinkering. It obviously suits your inquisitive constructive mind.
When tinkering becomes a slight variation on a theme I'd rather settle for one or two robust models per market behaviour and trade them across more pairs.
Just my suggestion from a purely economic point of view.

To address the 'automation' topic:

I haven't written the "order on signal" function yet, that's on the todo for this weeks end. But, I have arranged a new $1,000 1:100 demo account with my broker. I will be setting up a public trade explorer and linking it for us all to track the performance on automatic 0.1 lot trades with tp (next 50 or 100) and SL at previous low)

The entry given in MyforexSystem is the entry aggressive. Because we confirm the signal based on the indicators world. In the price world we use the candlestick behavior (red for bearish and blue for bullish). It is fine. I just put a 5/10 ema cross over and confirmed by the indicators. This calls the conservative entry.

Now it is up to you to decide your trigger (aggressive or conservative). The different between the mode of trigger is a few pips enough to eliminate the spreads early.
