Thanks Phil. Got that part now. The issue I am having now is that the vertical lines coincide with the timezone from FF and not from my broker. How can this be adjusted?

is the clock on the 108a window correct? if it is it should be placing the vertical lines at your time zone, which will be correct time for the news event timing, the broker time may differ from your actual time zone, mine does by two hours so 108a adjusts to my time not the broker time or the news event lines would be out of sync.

maybe this has caused some confusion as it automatically adjusts.

Okay I think I get it now. I got rid of FFC and started using the NewsCal-v108a. It seems to work pretty well. Like you said it is adjusting the lines to where they should fall according to my broker's clock. That's what I wanted in FFC, it puts the vertical lines according to your computer time zone but not the broker time zone. That causes the lines to fall in the wrong place on the platform chart. Fortunately, this is not the case now. Thanks for your help.

no problem have been using this calendar since 'euclid' was kind enough to first post this for free.

yes, 108a can have conflicts with other news calendars even previous versions still being installed.

you can clear the 'cache' at the bottom of the 'common' tab which will get rid of a lot of issues also as there may be some files in there from from the other calendar as well.

maybe you do not have the different impact news set to 'true' and/or the currencies set to 'all' ???

here is my calendar to compare, but i have the low impact news not showing (set to false), so yours should show other events as well.

ADDED... or it could be the look ahead, look back or events settings for displaying the news in the 'inputs' tab as well.

Does anyone know how to get the sound to work? I have the alarm settings on (and I think they are on by default) but it doesn't make any noise before news

these are the alarm setting you should see on the input tab, if not change them and when news is released it 'ding' an alarm.

if it is not that then make sure your other sounds on the mt4 platform are working, if they are then sorry i do know what the issue is other than to completely uninstall then re-install cal 108a, other calendars can cause conflicts even the previous 107 so make sure all are uninstalled..... and clear the cache at the bottom of the inputs tab on 108a.

Thanks Phil. I think I see what the issue is. Alarm2 has a news.wav setting, but alarm1 has nothing. Alarm 2 goes off but Alarm1 does not. Should there not be a file for alarm1 as well?

I believe alarm1 is if you would like an alarm ??mins ahead of the news, the setting on this (default) is 5mins (as you see) and alarm2 is at the release (0mins), so no file in alarm1 and it does not sound an alarm ahead of the release.

These are the default settings and work fine on mine with the alarm sounding on news release.

Is it possible to add one more feature to the news indicator "Newscal-v108" so that whenever the news will be released it will display the colour of the actual impact either "Green" or "Red" when it displays the "Now" event?

I mean the "Now" will display in "Green" colour only if the news release is "better" for the currency and "Now" will show in "Red" colour if the news is "worse" for the currency. The colours are already available in "ForexFactory calender" and hence, I think it is possible to retrieve the "Green" or "Red" colour to the "Now".

The main idea is to use it for placing instant "BUY" or "SELL" orders based on the colours of the "Now"

I will really appreciate this if you can implement this to the indicator and upload the new indicator file here.

is there a way to center the information on the screen? I want to put this dead center of my currency strength window which is 3 indicators combined with a saved template. the upper center area of that window is open space where as the left, right, and bottom are being used.

I get the message File error to the bottom left corner.

I used this indicator in the past several times without problems. Any idea whats wrong here?

Common problems are……

Have you ticked the ‘allow dll’s’ box?

Have you restarted the platform after installing the file?

Have got another news calendar installed, there could be a conflict, uninstall the others.

Have you tried clearing the ‘cache’?

All this is posted with instructions a couple of pages back if you are not sure what to do.

is there a way to display the actual numbers like FFC_fixed.mq.4 does? I think the layout of FFC_fixed is better looking. both have their advantages and disadvantages I suppose.

no, not in the current version 108a. as you say someone (actually a few people) have re-coded/modified this calendar to do that, have a look around at the different versions/modifications, just google mt4 calendar indicator and a few will come up.
