Looking at your TE, it seems you have had a bad week. Do you know why?

For me after a couple of months to explore many ideas, with holidays in between and taking into consideration August, has probably comes the time to go back to basics, using only 1-basket setup for my short term daily trading, because I wouldn't be able to bear so large DD in live trading. Therefore Strength H4 is for sure a candidate and I want to begin to test FF and TF weekly setup on daily plus of course cherry pick red news as they come along.

Hi bae67, maybe part of the answer is in the previous post I've just written, I.e. multiple basket setup, with large profits when they win, but big losses in the other case. For the rest I don't know, still testing to get more data.

Did any one trade the FOMC news? I forgot to set a basket. It looked like it would have been a nice winner.

Hi mrdfx, yesterday I had enough, but yes any USD-filtered basket would have been a winner.

After missing the harvest at FOMC, I took another hit today at TO with this Strength-based multi basket. I've already make up my mind to go back to simple 1-basket setup starting from next week. As a side note, all my daily setup since 25 July, have 44% win rate at TO and 53% at LO, source myfxbook.com

Starting from next week these multiple basket will be dismissed, but I wanted to end this week keeping all the settings equal.

LO gave me a nice kick again today! Now that I'm trying to see which is better TO or LO, this week LO is not performing well at all and it will interesting to see the compiled 8 weeks total data.

Did any of you notice the update in the latest FXM indie? Now you can choose between medium and strong signals.

Also are most you using the "Use * instead of +=" on default setting = False, or have you set it to = True?

I think I should have reversed this basket..

If only I could have somehow known beforehand I could have put the basket in reverse before it opened and made some nice pips today!

I'm actually working on a reversal basket as we speak. I had a basket that just always ran terrible and I have yet to create a reverse basket so we'll see how it does. I don't really like the idea of a reverse basket but if it works it works.

Most pairs are recovering from FOMC still so it's a bit of a challenge for any trendy baskets.

went back to basics this week ... testing ccfp TF TT FF FT d/w/m and recording result for each tenth (12hour-period) of the week ... twelve baskets ten data points

realized that one pip is the same as one thousand ... whats needed is consistency ... with smaller baskets is easier to understand what is going on and tweak accordingly

I set it to True because somebody on the original thread reverse engineered the code of CCFp-Diff indie and showed that using += is a programming error (btw the error doesn't happen on all timeframes).

A little shaky on the drawdown but this still seems to be the best strength basket by a long shot. I think if we eliminate wednesdays or even reverse wednesdays the trade explorer would be a lot higher than it is.

For me the streak of losses is never ending this week for short term daily setups. I could get sometimes positive results only from Embry1's Strength H4 and red news approach. When there are bad weeks like this TO seems to lose more than LO and the rest of the day.

Embry1 I'm also testing the H4 basket the only difference being I use L2 instead of L1. My testing thus far is pretty mixed, some days win some days losing. Surprisingly its been doing well at TO, Lo is mixed as well as the 12:00 slot. I'm still trying to find the best and most consistent times to set the basket, which is challenging as market conditions are never the same at certain times of the day. What is your findings this far?

Oh and my FIFO 50 pips baskets have been a mixed bag this week, I'll do the calculations, but it was definitely a meh kind of week for daily baskets.

These are the total figures for the last 8 weeks of my top 6 baskets that I've been monitoring daily for TO and LO. I collected the number of TP's and SL's that were hit as well as average DD.

You will find some interesting data about the TO and LO sessions that were traded. It was an interesting week for these baskets as prior to this week I was leaning towards cutting TO from testing, but this week as Murphy's Law would have it, TO did better than LO and has skewed my data and made it that much more harder to decide. The numbers are very very close and difficult to choose whether cutting TO is a good idea as overall they are so close in results.

I will most likely be cutting Basket 1 and Basket 6 from testing as they are not performing as good as the rest, so Baskets 2,3,4,5 will continue to be tested. So after this weeks results its proven that 1 week LO will be the winner but the next week it could be the loser, and we are looking for overall consistency so I don't think cutting out TO is a good decision just yet.

So as discussed last week about reversing the signals on a Monday, I decided to reverse again to test and for me its clear evidence that reversing signals on a Monday you have a better success of making pips. I'm really not sure why but it seems that trading opposite of what is suggested on a Monday works. I normally don't trade baskets on a Monday except for running some tests but if this is consistent then maybe I will.

My 5th Monday using reverse method. The previous Monday I forgot to reverse . Missed like 400 pips. All Mondays ended in profit using reverse.
