Shorts on smaller timeframes are possible but as has been said, it is more challenging to set and forget given the current upside momentum

My analysis of AUDUSD.
Timeframe : M1 - W1 - D1
M1
Trend / Momentum is UP / Sideways (middle of the curve)
W1
Trend / Momentum is UP. Room to move to the Weekly Supply embedded in Monthly Supply.
D1
Trend / Momentum is UP. Quality of the move is not great. Kind of grinding up.
So waiting for it to retrace to a cleaner Demand Level at 0.7827 to go Long.
Timeframe : M1 - W1 - D1
M1

Would I be right to look for longs even though all the timeframe is down?

I would consider blue zone as weekly demand.
To break the rules you must first master them.

If you look to the left.. the weekly demand seems to be in ctrl.
Even on the Daily there's an embedded zone inside the Weekly which have seen 2 tests already(as i've shown on the chart)
Considering these conditions... long would be the way to go.
Although your H4 zone does seem mouthwatering

We have LVL on LVL weekly which did nothing and most important, no far move away. Havent looked at a htf, but the weekly should let you doubt about your decision yunvic (just imagine the trendlines on the weekly, now take them and draw your new trendlines). Thats one way without looking at higher timeframes. imo. so i just guess that the htf did not even make it work a confirmation at those weak lvls.

As far as the Daily zone, it is tested but not broken yet.
So I figure we need to see it broken first.
I agree with your observation on my USDCAD analysis. I was in two minds myself.
Guess I will stick to the rules and not defy the trend
