Hello fellow fbers,

I have the FB running on NF and activated however it has not taken a trade since inception..

Expert Advisor is on and script has been attached to chart.. What could be causing this EA not to work?

I am using North Finance as broker if that helps..

Thanks,

Sanchez

Make sure there is a smile not a frown in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

Check the 'experts' tab and the 'journal' tab in the terminal window. Any errors?

Make sure the time frame on the screen is not too large. 4hr and daily trades a lot less.

How long have you had the EA activated? Which version of FB? Is it one with money management?

Hi wackena,

Thanks so much for the help.. I will check it out.. Two more issues which I have encountered

1/ I get a donk sound ( windows sound) everytime the euro moves up and or down hehe.. The sound is very similar to the sound when a trade is entered or exited. Euro is the only pair which makes this sound.

2/ A friend of mine is having problems with the EA as well Ver Firebird-v63G-TS.mq4 He has the file in the right folder I believe.. We are communicating via YM.. When he clicks on the EA in the left margin he gets the sub menu where he can click on " Attach to Chart" He says nothing happens when he does this..

I have asked him to enable expert advisors at top.. Verfied that he has the script in the right folder " Expert Advisors"

Cannot think of anything else for him to check.. Can you ?

Thanks again,

Sanchez

sanchez,

I hope this may help.

1. Put EA in MetraTrader's Experts folder.
2. Open EA with MetaEditor.
3. Confirm correct inputs.
4. Click "Compile" in Menu Bar.
5. Close MetaEditor.
6. Open MetaTrader.
7. Open Currency Pair charts.
8. Open Expert Advisor tab in Navigator window.
9. Click and drag EA to each chart, one at a time.
10. Click Expert Advisor tab in Menu Bar and then you should see Happy Face http://www.forexfactory.com/forexfor...cons/icon7.gif in upper right hand corner of each chart.
11. You are now trading.

My brother had same problem. The dreaded "dong" sound. He was using a satelite dish to receive data and dial-up to send data. This generated a lot of dongs. I'm not sure, but I think the dong sound is result of a Ping failure. The ping is used by broker's server and your MT4 platform to determine good connection. If not, the server or your MT4 generates the dong sound. The FB EA does not have sound code in it. If the excessive loss is triggered, you can get an Alert box with the alert sound.

It can be annoying, but the dongs do not interfer with trading.

Thank you for your feedback. I am planning on going live with $250. May I ask what you started with? Also, are you running with v1.0c? I see in the code there is MinMarginLevel which is set to 250. However, I have also experienced changing those values under the "User Input" section of the code do not have any effect in v1.0c.

My concern is having too many open positions starting out with a small account ($250) putting me at risk for my positions to be closed out if free margin hits 0. This could very well happen if say 3 or 4 positions are open and there is some kind of news release.

Wackena (or anyone) - What does MinMarginLevel do and is it related to "Free margin"? Am I being overly cautious with my concern?

I am trading LIVE on IBFX right now on four pairs. The last two weeks were rocky but I'm now above my starting point. I have not had a margin call at all. I am also now running on M5 charts although I started on M1 originally.

Hello firebirders,

I īm live with both of the versions (V63G-TS and V63-H03) and can say they are work realy very good. There is only one problem, a little bit safer and more exact trades the Version V63 H03 but i donīt want to miss the feature of trailing stop anymore...

The trailingstop save the gain but there is also a chance to maximize the profit if price runs into your direction...

So is there somebody who can code exact this tralingstop routine from V63G - TS into the version H03...

Both verisions are attached !

I would realy appreciate it !!

Thanks for your help,

mr.trader

Thanks for your input..

No errors.. What I found out was two things.. The first problem was I had the EA in scripts and not " Expert Advisors" Secondly I had to change the lot size because with NF as my broker you cannot trade micro lots.. Min is 1.00 pip

Thanks for the reminder.. I totally forgot the smiley face in top right corner

To all programmers in this forum...

just have a simple question. I would like to add money management features, TS features, and orders open features to one of the versions (63H03) that doesn't have them. My question is, can I copy and paste these features by taking them from the Firebird versions which contain them and then recompile the Firebird version I want to place them in? Is there a specific order in the program that they have to appear, etc. Any help is much appreciated.

This might be a nice EA if possible to tweak in such a way. Right now my 63H03 is running on the EurUsd/EurChf/UsdCad/UsdChf with the same individual settings that Mono is running on 63G. Just began the testing a few weeks back so nothing much to report.

I am running on v1.0a. started with a mini of $2200. Running the four pair at .5 mini lots. (Around 50 cents per lot EurUSD). My settings are conservative, not like v1.0c.

Hello Mr. Trader,

here it is. As I'm new in programming, make sure that you are doing same tests before using this version of Firebird on your live account.

I'm not sure if everybody has the same or similar opinion, but I'd say that running FB on M1 charts is a brokers dream come true ... so many trades and so many times that they take the spread from you, and remeber that the spread comes both ways, on the entry and exit.

On the other hand on the M5 charts it is significanlty more subdued and calm. Much less trades, but still appears to be profitable. Actually it may be even more profitable then on M1, but havn't done this comparison yet to hard evidence of it.

Anyway, it looks likes this may be a candidate for putting down some real money behind this system ... maybe?

The comparison posted above have default settings, nothing tweaked on my end for all ccy pairs.

just looking at FBb3 and 63G - why are the fast and slow period values different?

I've been reading through all threads about Firebird and I feel that I'm going nuts. I don't know if I'll ever be able to finish this one.
Please someone tell me, what version of Firebird is the best so far? Is there is one which will not open countless trades?
Thank you

None of them will open countless trades really.

But I am live on v1.0a.

Settings are USDCHF 25-300-25
EURUSD 22-300-25
USDJPY 22-300-25
USDCAD 22-300-25

So far so good. Percent is .1
Divergence =true

I am running on M5 charts. I think that could be very important.

Traderone:

Are you getting pretty negative returns this week in USD/CAD on the 5 minute. Others are great but down on 0.10 lots over $128 currently on open float, very small amout booked profits on USD/CAD
