Well big USD news like this typically has a strong pullback before it either continues the trend or completely reverses, there's not telling still what's going to happen. I think USD will continue to trend south but you never know. GBP news typically is good for trends but I've seen it have an opposite reaction at the time of news then trend the other way which throws off the indicators. GBP news may actually be better 30 mins after news. I don't know if I've ever seen CAD news have a strong pullback or reversal after the release, it's always pretty true so as soon as you see direction I would pull the trigger. For this one, I just did some studying on the actual news itself and the forecasts indicated a probable negative USD reaction and it started moving before release so I opened basket once I saw that. So this kind of goes back to the "manual" aspect of it. I think you'll always get better results from manually trading but the indicators and EA make it a heck of a lot easier to do so.

Definitely this must be entered manually some secs after the release. Instead I scheduled it at 12:31 and something weird happened, don't know if due to EA or server freezed, anyway I couldn't find any errors in the logs. Basically, the EA opened only one trade (USDJPY) that went immediately in green, but didn't open any other trade, release is beta_43. After another minute, I believed the basket and/or the EA were frozen so I closed manually the only UJ trade in profit. As soon as I closed USDJPY I saw all the other trades of the basket opening one after the other, but then the golden moment was lost and the great move already happened. Now the basket is still open apart from UJ manually closed and it's at -120 pips towards a probable SL. Luckily it's all demo trading.

How can you tell how anxious a 1 year old is? But it's true, so many Americans are on anti depressants it's the real zombie apocalypse. The government likes to secretly (but not so secretly) turn their citizens into obedient employees and work for someone else.

It is because parents these days instead of parenting (spending time with their kids) simply use TV, games, and medications to manage the kids. The good old days when families had breakfast and dinner together, at the table, and conversed is long gone.

Don't get me started on pharma industry. It is a MAFIA organization, I know because I was part of it. They basically write the law, through their lobbyists, and the government is just a rubber stamp.

If you are just testing it is OK to trade on Fridays, otherwise I have "heard" that we should stay away from Fridays. This brings me back to a point I made earlier. If you are losing, then someone else is winning. What that someone else is doing that we are doing the opposite and losing? Something to think about over the weekend.

Agree. But with this strategy if you have a basket that goes in DD from the start, there's not much you can do, even if you are in front of your pc.

I agree with you on this point too. I was so eager to try H4 Strength setup proposed by Embry1 that I couldn't resist, but only because on demo.

You started it at 16:00 GMT, I did 4 total baskets for strength H4 today and the 16:00 GMT one finished down 92 pips which isn't horrible but it was most certainly the weakest. I ran one at 00:00, 08:00, 12:00, and 16:00 and 3/4 were profitable for a total of 600 pips net just today. Unfortunately the timing of that basket is crucial but if I can net 600 pips a day you guys wont see me on this thread for much longer because I'll be too busy on my yacht.

Mine closed at -125 pips because i let them run for 4 hours. In case previous basket is still open do you close it manually or by setting in the EA ?
Anyway if this setup mantain the good and promising start you and somebody following you are closer to realize some of the their dreams.

So,before you disappear around the world on your yacht ! How are you timing your entries ? I could do with a bit of detail if you'd be so kind.

I run this, as PiF knows, exactly as in post 1 - except changed timings - and does ok. One big losing day but that was me just letting it go.

For me it works as is but I'm going to tweek it by filtering the pairs - talked to XM ages ago about this just never got around to it.

Demo been running since 13/8 - attached shows best and worst performing pairs over the period. I'm deleting the pairs losing from Monday and will review again next weekend. Needs a separate explorer obviously.

That's my plan hope makes sense !

Hi Claudia , thanks for sharing. I am not sure this will be helpful for you to fine tune your new approach to the settings you are using . But
this is an "extract" of my TE and other 3rd party watch dog of my demo account using the settings you shared here + (unfortunately) a bunch of other mixed settings I was using at the begining...I started a new approach on thursday driving a PIF style head to head race between normal settings and filtered baskets ( no NZD , no CHF) using Ferru's indi just like you on TO and LO ...NFP , end of month , red news just did as expected ...a total blood bath ..lol. So , here there are ...around 1800 trades ( different settings) ....showing that some pairs do NOT behave as expected when showing up in a basket ...

We probably working different times of day - I'm just working London open/close and back to one basket.

I'm sort of thinking of updating pairs traded on a daily basis. See what next week tells me.

Very nice analysis. I just went through my reports as well and I'm seeing a pattern of CHF and NZD pairs being the sore spot. This question would go out to FxMadness or Xmess. Obviously the CCFp-Diff indicator has the ability to not trade certain pairs, is there a way to implement something similar? I understand FxM indicator you can deselect pairs as they show up on the indicator, but if you had a basket overnight you wouldn't be able to deselect the pair. Something similar to the CCFp-Diff where you can go in the settings and deselect any pairs you don't want to trade like a filtered news basket.
