Hi, fantom, regarding your ‘ger H1’ trade above (post #1,844), it was a nice trade!
I just have a few questions that I hope you can somehow clarify:

  1. After reading some of your previous posts, I noticed you always had a very precise entry ‘ 5’. How did you do that? Can you talk about your thought process in entering a Wolfe wave and placing your initial stoploss?
  2. Also I saw you have a few other indicators on your chart (dots, red lines and better volume), what are they for? Anything to do with trading Wolfe wave?

Sorry for so many questions and thank you for your time and help!
Shuo

Hi fantom

I also have thought about using Andrew's Pitchfork as tool to determine the exit, but never was really convinced. My idea was to use it inside the WW structure mainly using B(3) and C(4) to set it up. (For example: X(1) B(3) C(4) as basis). Would be interested to read about your ideas/experiences using AP.

All the best

Hi Expo33, great thread with very clear and precise explanations. Good job mate.

I haven't read all of the pages here but I see that you have been applying Wolfe Waves to Renko charts and that has caught my interest as I am also a fan of Renko. I have also done a little bit of renko WW trading.

I'm curious about your thoughts regarding the benefits of renko Wolfe Waves. Are there any compared to regular time frame charts? Or do renko charts just offer a different angle with nothing better or worse than normal TF charts? Would you stick to trading renko WWs or would that mean missing too many opportunities on regular charts with not enough opportunities on the renko charts? (no need to answer these one by one, these are just a few things buzzing around in my head). I'm just curious about your opinion.

Also I would like to say that I love the work by Parviz in creading the WW Indicators - they are awesome (and free!!)

Dear Expo33

I am new to this great thread, and i need your valuable help

I have just read first page,do i have to read all pages ? , is there is a summary for 93 pages ?

1- What are fibo ratios between points (1,2,3,4,5 and 6) or (x,a,b,c,d and e) ?
2- What is best indicator i have to use ?
3- Is there types of wolfe waves like up and down and sideway ?

Waiting your kind reply , thank you in advance.

Hi Wiz.

Thanks for the compliments. My apologies for such a late response. I've been really busy lately.

I've always been intrigued by Renko charts. They appeal to my visual senses. My Wolfe wave journey is still a work in progress so I don't have all the answers.

For me the only potential downside to Renko when using them for WW analysis is that in many instances they show symmetry when in fact there is no symmetry. For example, when leg AB takes nearly the same number of candles to complete as leg CD. Since Renko is based on price and not time, you will see perfectly symmetrical Renko WWs that really aren't symmetrical when you look at the candlestick chart.

One thing I really like is how easy it is to see previous S/R, demand and supply zones, etc.

Here's a snapshot of the same WW, candlestick style and Renko side by side just to see the visual benefit of Renko.

Anyways, thanks for dropping by. I value any input you have. As I said from the start, this is still a work in progress. Unfortunately, I over committed myself in my local community until Christmas so the thread has been dying as of late. Starting in the new year I'll have free time to try and revive this thread.

Cheers mate, stay safe and stay green

Hi Simba.

There isn't a summary of this thread but there's a pdf link on post #1 that has a very basic overview of WW theory.

I would suggest reading through the whole thread if you are serious about using WWs as part of your trading plan.

Cheers

Haven't pulled the trigger on this one as I'm a but leery of trading against the dollar at the moment. Will wait until tomorrow's NFP print and maybe enter long if it disappoints.

Hello Mate and thank you.

I mislabeled point C and had two point D's. I corrected that and put up a new chart. Actually AC and XB do converge. Not by much, but they are converging and meet a long way off in the future. But you are right it is very close to a channel type trade. That is another reason I haven't taken this trade. I like there to be more convergence with a significant trend line break.
