Fresh trades on USDCAD and USDJPY.

This week's biggest moves so far went by as I was babysitting the AUDUSD, but there's still the NFP to look forward to. The ranges loog good - the market is breathing.

#Post 1 update. The monthly figures are here, confirming August as the 9th consecutive month of consistent growth. Considering the monthly target of 10%, and the fact that I only traded in the second half of August, due to the summer break, the 9.4% growth is more than satisfactory.

The NFP is out of the way, with poor data for the $, as broadly expected. My GBPUSD long is hanging there, while the EURUSD flopped after ECB's QE comments - out @BE.

Closed the GBPUSD long as it's clearly going nowhere. The weekly target reached, time to relax.

USDJPY will have its chance next week.

Sunday treat. Professor Niall Ferguson examines the history of money, credit and banking. First aired in 2009, following his book, The Ascent of Money: A Financial History of the World, quite timely published in the notorious 2008. Enjoy.

This one covers episodes 1-5 of the total 6. The 6th is titled Chimerica, and it can still be found on YT. Not sure why it's been cut out... politically sensitive, maybe...

One crucial piece of information, that neither Trade Explorer nor MyFXbook shows, is ROI (Return on Investment) - all time account profit divided by the starting balance.

TE's and MFB's stats get skewed by withdrawals, while ROI tells the whole story. Here's mine (21 Nov 16 - 01 Sep 17):

But don't get too excited; he might have spoilt the $ selling party on Friday, but the weekend's all been about N Korea stretching its nuclear muscle... again. Flows out of risk, into JPY and CHF - a gap down on USDJPY expected at the open...
