update:
issue sorted.
"lucky", the power cord failed, 5$ cost.
and so much headache about it.
the new setup. like simple.

between 2 early entries and exits to Gcad (long) and a tiny gain on US30 scalp...
today result: +0.08%
(still kicking myself for wasting the chance to take approx 0.6%, as the setup had more potential)

try, fail, improve, try again...

note: i am looking to re-enter Gcad around 1.6060-75 area if there is a chance.

morning "surprise" trade, not my usual pair.

update:

GbpCad, as from yesterday, got the chance to re-enter, for a quick 20 pips.
EurGbp was good for a scalp for some 8.5 pips.
EurNzd as from last post, got me the chance to re-enter, and on the skip to new high, i added to it some. Combined i sold out for a smaller profit...correction: due the later hour of the day, i left myself to be shaken out from the position for a tiny profit, vs. holding it for a decent return as only 20 min later i could have, with 1st entry at about BE, 2nd could bring full 40 pips profit and decent gains. and even that wouldnt be the full potential. yep, i messed this up, wanting to close flat, and all.
Even swap is positive, and being Wednesday it is triple, so, silly me.
anyway, the day overall one of the best of this month,
total gains: +0.37%.

not much today, basicaly yesterday repeated itself, with EurNzd short in the morning...and nothing after.
so, half repeat then.
still closing early, didnt like the past 2 candles, and was glad to bail, that time at least, not so much 30 min later.
result today: +0.19%

adjusted few things, mostly my drowdown tolerance, and matched with a return that correspond.
no huge swings in neither, and i like it better this way.

From late last night/early this morning,
NzdCad, originally was thinking to hold for longer, but things are little slow, took what i had, and move on for now.
18 pips, or +0.09%.

update:
the day went on quiet, even more so than i thought.
right at the Yellen speech i tried some scalps,
UsdNok, too much slippage i got, no idea how,
GbpUsd x2, the second i really stucked in for like an hour to be able to bail with 1 pip, miserable result, lol.
hate when the range is so tight that i am not confident to scale in, nor able to exit at least with BE.
note, that all scalps doe Friday and all, were 1/2 position sizes, and all carried very minimal drawdown, only the time were wasted mainly.
add to above post, the gand total is
today results: +0.15%

all trades closed, the account at equity high.
the week ended with +0.84%.

PS: the journal just passed 10.000 views today!!! it is already 2 months and the results quite similar than it were when it started. no intention to change on the recipe.

minimal action today, some opportunities i watched to work out, then when finally commit to some trades it wasnt the best ones for the day.
only scalping, none of the pending orders got filled in the morning.

first gold, then EurCad, together they made: +0.04%.
negligible drawdown, used very small position sizes.

some possible position trades setting up, if the direction holds. my thinking that EurUsd will be pulled up to test 1.20, probably over 30-50 pips to take out the SLs, and then it would be nice to fade it, or a cross of it...that is about the plan

the proverb suggests one needs to buy when there is blood on the streets...
well, looks like one also needs to short when NK missiles flying...
short gold, short EurNzd, and expect to make some money eventually on both, time will tell.
but guess it will be a late night/morning sleeping today!

EurNzd closed, to limit exposure, little unlucky at closing it, but still +0.27%.
Gold is smaller, still open, currently slightly in plus/near BE, expect it should be able to pull in around 0.1% or more too...to be seen.

While there is or isnt blood, one needs to keep a cool level head too, and not to get too greedy, as uncertainty carries...for better words...uncertainty.
A trade can always re-opened, and if not, there is always, always another trade

final update:
that is it, sleepiness wins, and i am not willing to leave tonight trades open.
Gold closed for +0.05% ( was smaller than EN small position).
total result for this morning: +0.32%
sort of done for the day before i ever started it!

3 lessons:
one has to trade when there is a trade.
it often pays to sit a little longer on the hands
trading sleepy not always result optimal decisions ( ie. i should fade the JPY move too, probably on GJ, not related directly to gold or EN)

sleeping is a must, but sometimes it can interfere with the trades.
sigh, only a human!

the pending filled on EurNzd, but was missed the perfect scaling in chance, out with small profit 20 pips.
EurUsd gave a good entry for scalping, took 12 pips there.
the results for these 2: +0.17%
the day stands at +0.49%

EurUsd indeed got over 1.20.
I am bit uncertain at this point about what to expect, still willing to fade the highs or lows, but there might be a slow or not so slow return to the mean, and this point the better option for me maybe to wait for the market to take direction.

- I stick to positive swap currencies and trade in +SW direction only
- no SL
- loose grid style but with large gaps between trades
- multi currencies

I treat trading as farming and DD as normality.
I have a trading journal and each month print out a trading summary with DD, trades taken, capital increase etc
I have multi accounts..... I have had 2 brokers in years gone by that went bust and although I got my money back eventually it was a real pain in the ass.
My serious suggestion is use low lot sizes and split trades between accounts and brokers.
Remember if your broker does go bankrupt and closes your trades, even with insurance compnesation schemes you will only ever get back your equity...... all DD is considered losses ...... so I prefer to diversify now and have peace of mind. Going through my accounts each morning taking profit and putting on new trades takes only a few minutes.

about trading, i think if and when it balanced it right, it seem to make stable and decent returns, as TE shows.
i mentioned in the beginning of the thread, that believe lots of the mainstream education about fixed SL and risk, trade only one currency, etc. are myths that one better ignore, but all sees the markets thru their own eyes.
for me, no hard SL ( but only equity stop at X% drawdown) works fine, scaling into a trade works usually fine, grid or lose grid, and even progressive lot sizing works fine, as long as ultimately drawdown can be controlled, and profit is somewhat respectable in the comparison.
i do some scalping and position tradings too, so, needs more screen time, but most of the time i can schedule my day flexible as i mostly close all trades rather sooner, (something i wish to work on but hard to find better drawdown combo).

today most part of the day i was held up in the province capital trying to get the scooter's ownership changed.
not an easy task in Thailand.
in fact a lot easier to change a house to your name, even if 1000x more expensive than a second hand scooter.
yep, second hand. the right price + for the farm ( believe or not live on an actual farm) you dont really need a fancy new one.
i was tempted, oh, i was tempted, those new Yamaha Aerox look just what i want, but Honda Click it is.

anyway, got home right after the news, and the first 10 min of move after, nice long candle, and bumm, jumped in without much thinking for a scalp.
wrong move!
went as far to look at H1, all fine, the rest...i would not consider it low risk scalp and would wait for a bit, the prudent thing.
well, like a silly puppy jumped in, and it cost me...time, emotion, frustration, and ultimately some profits too, cos after a while all you want to be is out!!
forgot to mention that ultimately also started a little too much initially, added more to the "pain". ok, not that much pain there really...

the trade above is UsdCad,( attached chart), something i should be cautious to touch, a lesson that cant let up attention, even if on the roll!!
also had some GbpCad and UsdJpy.

total result for today: +0.16%, not that much to show for the trouble.
worst running drawdown was about -0.8%, so, there you go, not really pain, just a bit.

i am happy to say that this month is right on track to end with max DD% <1%!!
this partly thanks to the boring month, partly for my effort to scale down things a bit to the test account i was mentioning some post earlier.

yeah, test account, after much delay, got today the mail from the broker, that is finally opened and ready.
so, September will see me with that 250k account and hopefully will be able to keep within the 2.5% drawdown limit there, and make profit too.
it is a test, for fund management, and it is something that can potentially pan out for something big. like 8 figure big.
call it my lottery ticket to a new life.
it needs work, probably lots of work.
but i am willing to give it a go, so much that i had a sabbatical arranged from work for this opportunity!!
so big things to happen from September!!
