Disliked{quote} Yes, I have built my own version of RMI inside candle EA (for MT5), and I'm sure, Blix has done it as well.Ignored
Disliked{quote} I started to read an article on the MQL wizard. I an wondering if it will be easier for me (non coder) to build on MT5 rather than MT4. If im gonna learn how to code I may as well learn on the newer version.Ignored
Disliked{quote} If you have no coding background, I would recommend to start with MT4 for several reasons. It is easier to learn, there are by far more tutorials (e.g. Jim Dandy) and third party products available. My decision to shift to MT5 is based upon its ability to test multi-currency EA's and enhanced functions to optimize code - more advanced functions, that you shouldn't care about, when you start learning MQL4. DislikedUpdate for Version 1 after 2 months The EA recovered fairly well from the huge DD in July. We're now at +13,5% balance growth since start 2 month ago with no more significant DD in August. As those price movements, which caused this big DD were quite extreme compared to the pairs' histories, this is a remarkable result for a version 1, which I consider merely a starting point. I will keep v01 running for a while and launch v02 soon on a separate FX Blue account. V02 will include some new ideas especially on reducing the floating DD. Regards, Oliver...Ignored
DislikedOsfx, I have gone back to MT4 and the GBPCAD to try out different ideas to reduce draw downs. I was almost able to replicate your and Cubby's results on the GBPCAD. I have smoothed out a few draw downs but am stuck with the flash crash in October2016 and a long trend without much pullback in June2010. {image} I have tried: Dynamicly reducing TP as more entries are taken >> this did help smooth some draw downs out but reduces overall profitability. Exit on opposite RMI signal or exit on opposite RMI & IB signal >>this avoids the very deep draw downs...Ignored

Disliked{quote} Hi Cliff, here are some thoughts: I.M.O the original settings indeed do not work very well for EURGBP H1. Try to find more conservative settings, where the entries are taken not too early within the price movements (buy lower, sell higher...). Unfortunately, adding rules to filter bad trades doesn't work in most cases, no matter, how sophisticated the rules seem to be. They almost always filter good and bad likewise. Otherwise, there would be a lot of holy grails out there... One way to control the risk is to diversify your trades: by trading...Ignored
DislikedHi Osfx, I was going through your stats in fxblue, I see you have worst month DD of -32.9%, a bit high imo, you should find some way to reduce it may be drop the number of pairs that have High ATRs. Plus can you explain what here means Deepest valley. Good luck skat {image}Ignored
Disliked{quote} Hi Skat, yes you're absolutely right - the max. DD was quite high, I already commented on it in post 13. The critical number in your screenshot is "Deepest valley" under Equity section, which means 40,8% floating DD. I'm currently working on v02, which hopefully improves the DD issue. Disliked{quote} I have already implemented some ideas into v02, but the testing cycles take a lot of time, even on MT5 - work and family as well... But I hope to release it soon, as v01 is currently going into a deep DD.Ignored
DislikedI've been working for a while now on v2, but honestly, I coudn't get to a setup, that I'm confident with and that I would go live with. Some of you may have noticed, that I stopped running v1 after a big DD end of last month. I tried a lot of options, including all, that were suggested here and in Ryan's thread, such as: dynamic lot sizes, dynamic grid steps, limiting no of levels, take partial profit, exit on opposite RMI signal, cut losses at a fixed % of balance (as Ryan suggested recently)... but the main issue with this system always remained:...Ignored
