I have a question regarding the new data loaded after 1700 est - it appears to only influence the two MA lines, 5 & 20, am I correct?

How do we trade these please, and is there any other data that influences our trading that we cannot see?

Hi Andy,
There are a lot of posts on what the Ma lines are for and how to implement them. As far as the rest I have tried dove's simulator and after a few days of it running, the parabolics go totally haywire until you apply the template again so who knows what else is inaccurate without resetting. Why not just stick to the rules and reset at 1700. Pretty simple.

Yes my friend, as I understand it the Ma lines are used for extra confluence in being a noise filter at the start of the new data. The top line is resistance and the bottom support as long as used with the other indicators. The open at 1700 is also used as a support or resistance as an extra confluence. This is just how I understand it and I could be wrong but it's best to take everything Dove says for face value and not get too analytical. It can be a trap for us beginners trying to understand everything but my guess is it's best to have faith in a proven system and save ourselves the headache. I don't mean to be harsh but the market is unforgiving and we have been given the keys with the paradox.

Thanks John. I have been tracking them, and how to use them with the opening, but they regularly appear to be at conflict with the H2 fibs/SAR, like as now?

I'm just new at this but I would say don't focus too much on one indicator but try to look at the bigger picture. Let me tell you a story if I may. Have you heard of Eastern airlines 401. The whole crew got occupied on one burnt out light in the instrument panel. They focused all of their attention on that one light instead of all the other indicators. That brought the whole plane down and over half the passengers died.

I am not a master at this but I will say that Dove says to look at the whole picture. Yes the Ma lines are important but on their own they are a disaster waiting to happen. That is why I believe that when we write a plan this helps us distinguish the paradox as a whole. I feel like I'm preaching now and since I'm no master of the paradox I hope that I am offering correct advice.

I am posting the result and self evaluation.

Result: Lose (-40 pips)
In last post I showed my entry on 1H chart, here is my entry on 2H chart (my Entry is at the retrace off 2H purple)

finally, the SL was hit.

Self Evaluation: my understanding in Ranging mode trading scenario is quite poor, I have to go back to study what about ranging mode and how to trade off from Support/Resistance. Actually, I also considered to put the entry on the opened candle at near the EMA(above ROMAR), but I didn't, because I was not sure that whether EMA would cross ROMAR to be down side or not. So, If I could understand the ranging mode more, surely I would put the entry there. I will try with the next trading plan again.

To other senior members, could you give me any comment or hint for my further study.

Note: EMA cross Purple for Swing down same time with White cross Smooth. ROMAR still be Support.

Note: 4 horsemen in line for down trend with ROMAR as Resistance.

News: No major news today

Final note: With 2H chart, Now it is showing the down swing with ROMAR support. Waiting for the signal of this down Swing ending (White cross Purple), and take Entry follow the DB/SAR swing.

Entry Long: when 2H purple cross White up, and the opened candle is above Smooth
Entry Short: If 2H EMA cross ROMAR, take entry off the EMA as Resistance

Hi,

The Entry was done for Short after EMA cross ROMAR for down in 2H chart. As the plan, I took entry at the 2H EMA as resistance, and the distance to target at Daily Parabolic is enough for 40 pips

OK - I have a question from last Monday.
I did not post a plan, as I'm re-reading the thread and writing all the rules I can find so I'm sure I follow them. Last Monday I made a plan on a paper and waited for the market to come to me, when it finally came it was late and I wasn't in front of my computer. The setup was great, but if I was taking trade it would be a loss...
I'm looking at the setup from Monday trying to lean what is wrong with it and I can't find the answer.

Here is the pic (from doves post no 10,669) and I added the white arrow as I would enter SHORT when the marked candle CLOSED.

THE PLAN- 24/7 mid-London session
At that time the DAILY ROMAR+EMA support and PSAR was resistance, but eliminated.
2H- as you can see had ROMAR+EMA+PSAR as resistance with white, smooth and purple down. With Last DB at 128.86. MACD down, Fibo RED, last EMA arrow up.
1H had the same where ROMAR+EMA and PSAR as Resistance. We also had purple crossing white the previous candle.

SHORT ENTRY at 129.33 (at the CLOSE of the marked candle)
We are in Consolidation. AT THE MOMENT we had Both 1H and 2H in sync for downtrend and both ROMARS are just above at 129.45-6 as resistance. Also the pip count to last bottom is 47 pips (enough)
The trade was from resistance (2H EMA) as the rule.

I know it is unusual to ask about a trade I did not take, but I was waiting for this setup as per plan, so I think about it as a trade I took. Also, I tried all week to find what it wrong with this entry and must be missing something. I was holding myself all week but it is really getting my confidence down (my intention was to start posting a plan every day- this week)

Each scenario has its own rules. The rules that you was using was for a downtrend. And we were not - and still not - in a downtrend. We are in a ranging mode and last Monday we were in a ranging mode. But the rule you did not applied was the SLIDER. With your entry you was in an EMA slider to return back into the ranging uptrend. The best part about the entry was the EMA slider was visual with the open above EMA. In ranging the DB/SAR has the control.

Evaluation: Again the faith in the DB/SAR showed it's worth in this Ranging we are currently in. Knowing which scenario you are in - Trending/Consolidation/Ranging helps enormously in clearing up what small set of rules should be applied to each.

Very good trade Andiroo; In fact I took the same trade with the DB/SAR at the double bottom with opening at White crossing Purple. The set up was perfect by apply the correct rules..
