Hello Everyone,

FXCM's quarterly spreads data was released yesterday, and for Q1 2017 EUR/USD and USD/JPY had an average spread of 0.2 and 0.4 pips respectively during peak trading hours on standard accounts with No Dealing Desk execution. 70% of EUR/USD and 61% of USD/JPY volume occurred during peak hours which are from 6 am to 6 pm GMT.

Hy Guys i'm using an hedging EA since a week on an account with FXCM and i notice strange things happening: orders opened at different prices of the EA in order to tilt the EA. When prices comes close to open new positions for the EA it seems that the new position is opened really fast unless it is a closing position; then the price has to exceed the level so much to get the execute of the order. Have you got evidence that this broker doesn't like hedging EA?? Thanks a lot for your help
It has happened again: due to New on Nzd cross i took a slippage of 39 pips on Nzdchf yesterday night :mY order was 0.70498 and the price at which has been executed is 0.70891( buy)
I don't think it is fair and anyway it is no possible to follow a recovery EA with so high slippage.
For them it is normal: there was an important new.
I decided to change: what do you think of IcMarkets????

It's mind blowing that some traders still use FXCM when it's well known now they are nothing more than a bucket shop.

While I can't discuss specifics of any trades on the forum due to our privacy policy, please keep in mind Slippage occurs when the market gaps over prices or when available liquidity at a given price has been exhausted. Market gaps normally occur during fast moving markets when a price can jump several pips without trading at prices in between. Similarly, each price has an available liquidity.

You mentioned trading NZD/CHF Wednesday evening. The RBNZ rate decision was released at 5pm ET (21:00GMT) on Wednesday. New events, especially central bank rate decisions, have the potential to cause market volatility and gaps. Not to mention the RBNZ rate decision also occurred at 5pm which is also when daily rollover occurs. It's a good idea to review the weekly economic calendar and the importance level of any planned events so you're not caught off guard by these types of events.

I agree. It's even more mind blowing when non US citizens use US brokers. Basically, any other broker in the world is a better choice.

If price makes a quick thrust for 5-10 pips, you hype up the spreads beyond ridiculous making scalping literally impossible. If your excuse again is lack of liquidity that would be very interesting because you claim you are ECN which means you have tons of big banks to provide liquidity, yet none of the banks were able to provide this liquidity...So, where did the liquidity go? Oh wait, I know, you aren't capitalized enough to be a legit market maker. What a scam of a shitty broker you are!!!

That's exactly my experience with FXCM. I saw this scam time and again.

Demo accounts cannot simulate liquidity since demo orders are not transmitted to the liquidity providers for execution. And you can rest assured that FXCM is not after your virtual demo dollars. The chart gives me little information to go on but I would like to have our tech support team investigate. If you can please send me an email directly at jrogers [AT] fxcm [dot] com with your demo username and password so I can have tech support investigate.

The only truth Jason has written here: "....you can rest assured that FXCM is not after your virtual demo dollars...". They are actually AFTER YOUR REAL DOLLARS!
Don't even bother to contact FXCM's "support" team. They are just clowns with no technical knowledge who will make you waste your time hoping to distract you while they continue taking your money. As I said before, been there done that, so I'm trying to warn people.

Well, it's pretty clear to me marketscope is gonna be used for charting only, not even demo testing LOL. What a shit garbage broker. Doesn't even have a working demo account LMAO.

I'm not seeing an email received from you since last Thursday with the demo username and password so I can have our tech support team help. Please let me know when you sent it. I want to make sure it didn't end up in my spam folder. Even though you're in the United States and can't open an account with FXCM, I want to make sure any issue is investigated by our tech team and corrected. The chart you posted gives us little information to investigate so I look forward to receiving your email.

Yes, IQ Broker is one of the 3rd-party specialty platforms you can use to trade an account with FXCM. We have them listed here on our website.

i just open demo acc on fxcm, but what so hard/dificult to close profit order.... why ?... i can not imagine if thats case happen on real acc.

Hi Mozak, Are you using MT4 or Marketscope?

My experience of Marketscope is great, but their MT4 platform gave me endless problems - both demo and real account.
