The time at which your brokers daily candle closes is set by the broker and not by the timeframe you are trading with. Imagine people with different timeframes would see different charts, that's not possible. here you find a link of Nial explaining why he uses the NY closing charts and why it makes a difference relevant to his trading style. http://www.learntotradethemarket.com...k-close-charts note: I am not posting this to promote his website, he is just the only person giving this issue some attention....

Hello minosd

Whilst i understand the need for data integrity and of course ensuring one's broker's data is consistent, it is something that is out of the trader's hands ultimately.
As long as you are with a decent broker your data should be alright.
There are quite a number of considerations for traders when making decisions about their trading business.
I tend to focus on things i can control and have influence on rather than the parts i have very little influence on.

My influence ends in my ensuring i am with a decent enough broker. The rest i leave alone
The information from most brokers will be near enough the same. In my experience it makes little difference to my assessment of zones

hello AKT and TIOF traders I would like to have your input on GBPJPY weekly and daily zones {image} H4{image} H1{image} 3 QUESTIONS: 1. Are my weekly zones right? 2. looking at both daily and H4 timeframes, can this be considered as a shorting opportunity? (having spiked daily supply zone by 27pips=wiggle room) 3. If question 2 is an opportunity or on the flip side when looking for long(due to all timeframe's trend is up), would you consider demand zone created at H1, H4 or daily(all achieved something) and why? thanks in advance

Hello Karasinga
Thank you for sharing your charts.

If i may, please consider defining the type of trade you are looking to take when assessing any trade.
The second question in particular suggests you have some conflict about whether to go long looking at the weekly or go short looking at the daily.
You can actually do both but you must have a clear understanding of why and it has to do with what the purpose of your trade is

best wishes

P.S the zones are correct

Hello everybody,
I too think that would be very useful to learn mistakes made when working S&D metodology rather than see only profitable trades.

Dear Minosd,
I am not very experienced in S&D but if I may, I think that of course, the price have reached SZ 8H, 4H inside D1 SZ, but now it is in sideway, I do not see any trend, any momentum. Moreover after yesterday central banker's speeches I would wait for a while market decides where to go.

Hello Minosd,

of course, after the fact we are all great traders , so I do not judge your entry at all, but instead use it for myself too for learning something for a potential next time.
I didn't analyse other timeframes, but just looking at your single posted chart, this is what I think we both may wanto to consider for the future.

And of course, also my below thought is very open to any further better one :

Price almost hit WK Demand / Hit WK demand and now is in control. I had a similar loss on the H4 while trying to short. Realized I drew my WK demand abit off. Thought there was room to drop but in fact WK demand was already in control and reacting.

(sorry for the mobile chart)

Dear minosd,

I will tell you my thought about two entries what I was looking for and how I analysed them.
1. Weekly MOM TL has been broken and we have possible equilibrium, but that does not mean that we have downtrend. H4 SZ was in the middle of curve chart so, no SAF entry form me.
2. Daily chart has downward MOM TL, but is being tested. It is good sign for short entry as alignment sign, but you have to keep in mind situation on weekly chart and where price is in it.
3. H4 MOM TL was broken, what is good, because price is coming to our entry and trade's possible profit margin is 1:2., but that zone is not inside daily's SZ (you can see H4 SZ's proximal line if you look at every chart's right side and look for red arrow with dashed line), so I would pass the trade. I need H4 to be inside daily zone.

Second entry.
1. Weekly MOM TL has been broken and we have possible equilibrium, but that does not mean that we have downtrend. H4 SZ was high on the curve chart and price has pulled back to used up weekly SZ what is nested inside of monthly SZ what is poorly tested. Because weekly SZ is used up I will pass SAF entries.
2. Daily's chart MOM TL can not be drawn, but price made new DZ because of broken MOM TL. So if I want to sell I have to look for fresh weekly SZ.
3. H4 MOM TL is up and trend is up, we are creating new DZs. Profit margin is almost 1:2, but SZ'z candles has long wicks. That shows that zone was searching orders instead of having orders in it. So, no SAF and there is another level o top of entry zone. Safer would be to trade it, but there is possibility that price could react from entry zone, but because of situation on daily chart I would wait only conformation when daily will make new SZs to short.
P.S. you have to watch USD INDEX. What price could do in it.

Dear traders,

I have a question about indicator. Does someone has an indicator what turns on trailing stop when TL is hit. Or maybe someone could make one if knows how to make a code.

Best wishes.

Hello Edensgarden
Thank you for sharing your trade with us here.

I have some thoughts for you and all of us to consider.

I would like to suggest you consider your reaction to having an expense in your trading business.
Of course no-one likes to lose but guaranteed, we all will.
Just like no-one likes to die but guaranteed, we all will.

As i commented on twitter today, Epictetus, the Greek philosopher said, "it is not what happens to you but how you react to it", that is what matters.

Posting a loss here or a win here makes no difference to your end result Edensgarden.
It helps to get feedback but nothing more.
Losses happen to every speculator.

As i tell my guys, there are 4 types of trades, a winning trade, a losing trade, a good trade and a bad trade.

One side of that statement has to do with outcomes and the other side has to do with process.
One side has to do with what is entirely out of our control and the other, with something entirely within our control.

A winning trade can be a bad trade and a good trade can be a losing trade.

You want to be process oriented rather than outcome oriented.

That will require some work, and not the kind of work you think Edensgarden
Not time in the charts at all actually.

Be proud that you took action. So what if you had an expense. You assessed the risk before the trade, position sized appropriately, accepted that risk and took the trade. Right?

best wishes

Hello Kovalenko
Good to meet you
Welcome to T.I.O.F

I would not even dare presume to say i know why price dropped from that level. I am not privy to that type of information... I wish

What i can see from your picture though, is price reaching a supply zone and reacting to it.

best wishes

Good day guys,

A bit out of topic, I wanna ask if anyone knows how to back test the market.
I want to try to use Supply and demand in this testing.
I've seen videos showing back testing of their trading strategy, not expert advisor.
For example, at certain time, it stops, i will do the analysis I want, enter trade, then i speed it up, then stop and repeat again. If it hits TP/SL, there will be a record as well.
If anybody knows how to do that, you can PM me if it disturbs the thread here.

Thank you very much.
Opportunity doesn't knock on your door.

Dear tseannn,

Best way to test strategy would be doing forward test. You can do it on Forex Tester, but you have to buy it to receive history.

Best wishes.
