Hey folks,

Well, I have a Oanda account, and Im only trading 45 lots a smack, small time.. 2 pips=.01 cents,

Just seems fishy most of the time, like someone is sitting there, just watching my trades, and playing the lines, its horrible, and is taking the fun out of it..

Just sayin

You are joking right? Do you really think Oanda hires someone to watch your 10 cent trades and manipulate the prices. Not saying broker dont do some fuzzy things but c'mon.. really!!

Being a market maker, Oanda trades against you. Is there any reason to doubt the "stop hunting?". It's what market makers do.

Alternatively you can place your stops at intelligent places ie.. not an arbitrary 20 pips or so from the market.

I am not posting to complain about stop hunting because I know better than to over leverage my positions, but I do have complaints regarding their recent spreads and rollover activities. I have posted their unscrupulous actions here:

Hey folks,

Well, I have a Oanda account, and Im only trading 45 lots a smack, small time.. 2 pips=.01 cents,

Anyways, im here, Why? because I "feel" i was stop hunted like crazy the past 2 days. I googled stop hunting, and bang, here i am..

I scalp, 5-10 pips a trade, and adjust my TP and Sl by clickin the lines and modify them, ( which i love ).. i can get more pips if it runs, and SL to lock in profits.

FYI I scalp happily and profitably EUR/USD with Oanda.
I have a hard set automatic SL of 4 pips, and go for 5-10 pips profit or more.
My SL almost never gets hit.
So my guess is, that you still have not learned to observe waves.
That's all. Typical newbie error.
If you learn to blame yourself instead of your broker, you will have a chance to improve.
But not before.

Just my humble opinion.

You may be correct,

Im taking a very hard look at whats going on with my skills this weekend..

Its just, Im noticing things. And this entire afternnon, I have learned alot about the ' Forex Gears' and what is really happening.

Im going to be honest. When I started 10 months ago, reading charts and candles was my mission, then everything else will fall into place.

Then, I started making EA's. EA's that hit 200 trades with one close out at the end. I have made probably 50 differant ones, and to be honest, 60% worked very very well..

So, I finished a very very good EA. and was really proud of it.

For 3 weeks straight, i demo tested, started with $500 demo account, and turned it into $300,000..

Every 100 pips, I increases my lot sizes, compounded my profits, I was feeling great about it.

I threw in $50 ( real ) into Oanda, and Bang, Lost half of it in a day..

Then, I couldnt trade MT4 anymore because the account balance was to less for 0.01-- so I went to the main platform.

Thats where I am today. Sitting with, ready for this???:? .49 cents

Now, here is my problem.. I know, I know, they arent watching my little trades, no kidden. BUT, something isnt right.

Today, for instance, I set it at 17 pipSL.. Already kinda annoyed, because I got stopped out like 30 times today already, so I set it far, just for the crap of it.. Low and behold, shot like a rocket, 1 pip past my SL, closed out, and dropped right back down, just like I wrote above.

So, now, I set it to 30 SL, because I dont really see that getting spiked as often, the wait for the price to move past the trade arrow, then move SL 2 pips past arrow, for lock profits. Well, that didnt work to well either, cause I would have that smacked as soon as I dropped it on the chart, like magic..

I know, I sound like a whinny little punk, but come on, I know Im not the only one getting this..

I enjoy trading, I enjoy the rush, the anticipation, the profits ;/, the action, I like scalping.. I could maybe switch over to just 2-3 trades a day, but then, I would have nothing to do all day, lol, might be the better option.

i just know there is cash to be made, and I have done alot of homework, but I guess not enough Broker Homework..

O, and since I have a few Oanda traders here, how about that nice little spike today. Well, I jumped on it, from the very top, Hit Enter, LAG OUT THE WAZO, Took 4 seconds to register trade, by that time, it was already, what, 45 pips down, or something like that, I wanted to throw something after that.

Mind you, Not 1 trade, the entire day, took more then less then 5th of a second to enter, but not on this one? It seemed like a stop hunt, and probably took out allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllot of peoples stops, and nothing you couldnt of done with it.. I couldnt even jump the come back, it was that laggy.

Man, I was on it too, like I knew what I was doing,lol..

Silver lining to this story,?

I tryed to make a deposit the other day, same way I did the first one, and was declined, but they still held my money, that I wont get back till the 9th of Aug..

I will have a ECN broker by Sunday night for sure. Im done with Oanda..

O, and for heaven sake, Dont be in a trade when the Spread spike 10, but then again, you never know when its going to happen, THAT steams me..

Pescador, keep up the great work man, great profits to you..

Im just really tired and stressed out, because I feel I should blame myself, and I guess, really have been, but Im beginning to think, its not all my fault..

Because really, I have pretty dang good scalping skills, I know what Im looking for, and I jump the train when the time is right.

Time is the main factor, as to why I wanted to really use a EA. Not Clock time, but the amount of time from enter to exit. Alot of my trades are 2-5 seconds long, and If im in the trade for 10 seconds, I made a bad call.. I takes at least 2-3 seconds to hit enter, and open the ticket to close as fast as possible. sometimes, its to long..

if I set my TP to 3-4 pips on the ticket, it seems it just dont ever go my way, its funny how that works, so I try to fool the system, but it just takes to much time, because like I said, I NEED to be in and out.. Thats where the SURE pips are.

Demo to live is no joke, and it shouldnt be like that. Go from scalping 200 pips a day, to losing, is just mind bending..

I dont know, Im just looking for excuses, because Im a weak trader,

Seriously, I like I said, I need to do, do diligence on my skills maybe.

But at this point, Im like on information overload bro, and need a break, but cant take one, because I didnt finish the day off with 100 pips profit, which is soooooooooo easy, but for some reason, Oanda seems to be fudgin ME up..

its allllllllllllllllllll a game, and i have to figure out the mechanics of the whole thing, and its way more then charts and bar movement, there is more deeper into this beast, and Im A huntin for it..

Have a great weekend, Im burning the midnight Oil tonight, and tomorrow night, and comin out storming Monday,

Cheers,

O, and to the dude thinking 2 pips to the cent is a joke, really? It isnt about money, its about Pips, I dont have $1000 to throw away to learn a skill. That would be like driving a Lambo on the same day you get your permit, just dont make cents.

Im learning to make a Pip, not a Dollar, I just figured looking at it like that will help the mind when my trades are $1000 a pop, and again, I sure the heck wont be trying that on Oanda..

OK, Im done..

All I'm going to say is... if you don't want to get wet, then don't stand in the rain.

And one other thing... Get away from Oanda, I have them as one of my brokers and they have been real bad lately.

Sorry to hear this mate, but I have to say it IS your fault.
The very same day, this Friday, I traded EU with Oanda the same old strategy of mine, 4 pips hard set SL that I never move, and made 15% gain on my account.

Learning to scalp takes time.
For me it took 3 years to become consistantly profitable.

I use two brokers: Oanda for EU and Interactive Brokers for everything else.
I find both excellent.

My friendly suggestion to you: observe the various types of waves, their typical wavelengths and amplitude. Identify those points within the waves where the probability is low to take out your 4 pips SL. These points do exist, and occur about 2-3 time an hour.
Trade only these high probability situations and nothing else.
High frequency scalping for tiny profits will kill you fast.
Learn low frequency scalping with a good risk/reward ratio.
