My 2 cents on Gann (2) R.N. Elliot is born in 1871 and died in 1948 W.D. Gann is born in 1878 and died in 1955 Hence it is very realistic to imagine that working both on the markets at the same period both Elliott and Gann have examined their respective work . De facto they have respected a modus vivendi : no commentary on each other, no duplication of tools or concepts. Gann just used the concept of "Campaign" mimicking more or less the concept of "wave" - but it was marginal in his work. An ad-hoc concept IMHO developed to make quiet his customers...

Without a doubt, Jenkins studied Gann and took Gann to the next level. I love Square The Range Trading System, for several reasons. First, he teaches you how to apply valid principals and accurate trend-lines and calculated Support and Resistance, then the actual trading is simply a function of entry and exit. Just buy on Support and sell at Resistance.
At least Jenkins provides the Where and When(Price and Time)? Yeah, it's a little confusing of a read the first time out but after the third or forth re-read, You'll say to yourself, this is the only way to do this stuff, why didn't I read this book before because it was published in 2012, and been doing it the hard way since?

Sorry, I haven't been much to help lately, got some medical issues I'm dealing with.

your not kidding its a bit confusing... and drawing anything on an Mt4 chart relative to fans, 45 degree angles and so on is totally inaccurate. I found even the crappy trading station basic charts from fxcm better than mt4...I would sooner find good charts that can be downloaded in paper and hand drawn...how do you overcome this scenario? Ensign charts or sierra?

Majomember I am not a "jenkins veteran " unfortunately but I am a "Gann veteran" meaning I use some Gann tools since 1998.

A "Waterfall Event" is the name given by Martin Armstrong to the "Pattern" where a financial entity loses 90 / 95 % of its value in 2 or 3 years

In such pattern Price Action is parabolic

Swede, well it's like anything else, it costs money. First and foremost agreed, MT4 stinks when it comes to tools and charts. I know of not one professional that uses MT4. Personally, I use Optuma for charts(formally Market Analyst). I am talking to them now to see if they will give you guys some form of discount, we'll see. The alternative is paper charts, as you mentioned. I do a lot on my computer but also use paper charts twenty times a day. All I've tried to do by starting this thread, is to allow traders the awareness that one can take they're trading to the next level, because there is a next level.
Yes. it's confusing, a little in the beginning, but after the forth read, you'd think you were an idiot for not doing this way, trust me! It's like this: if you are going to make money at anything and I don't care what it is, it's going to cost you money to make money. Trading is not for bottom feeders, we all know that. Swede, you are one of the most respected traders from Davit's Pivot Trading thread. You make money. I know, you can do this and add to your toolkit and Kill It, because it's what you do.

Hi. I have been taking it slow and been playing around with just manually squaring out charts. Now I know this is a forex forum but I tried to square out a few cryptos and some interesting results came about. These next charts are ADA/BTC (Cardano) Weekly chart, I took the low of the big bull run from 570 to the 8788 high which gave the range of 8218 (these values are satoshis which is 0.00000001 BTC). Next I counted 82 weeks which resulted in the date of the week beginning at 29 July. Also this chart is scaled 1:10 so I backed up this date with...

Majomember welcome in the club !

Your chart seems ok to me.

Note that the Price Time relationship was 100 points a week in average.

Note the complementarity of Jenkins methodology with the "Waterfall Event " concept

Note that ADABTC decline could have had another form.

Now you have a better understanding of ADABTC behaviour . Your work can be labeled as a "post-mortem"

Hi Everybody
Thanks to DimonsMiner for start this topic and thanks to all who took participants, specially Parisboy
i was reading the topic at the weekend. really enjoyed it. i've never heard of Gann till DimondMiner decided to share his knowledge about it. now i use Gann Fan and they works very well but there is a big problem: when i draw a Gann Fann on the chart and drag the chart to left or right, scale changes. it caues the Gann Fan change to! so for resolve this problem you need to tick "scale fix one by one"on properties. after you did it, now it's hard to read the chart. LOL
any recommendation to make this tool more handy?
/
Also you can download 6 hours of Micheal S.Jenkins Trading Videos with 500MB here for free it's torrent file.

Good Luck and Thank You for reading : )

Paroucia I do not see it as a problem but as an opportunity to master the relationship between Price and Time on a specific Timframe.

"Angles" are not the same on a Long term chart and a Short term chart . They tell you different informations.

What are your prefered trading instruments ?

The correct question after a Waterfall Event is the Recovery where TIME is key.

Do we invest or trade again after such a Waterfall Event and when ?

Paroucia, Welcome, within the Jenkins Video, The Secret Science, Secret Angle and Square The Range Trading System books and vid is probably the most complete set of knowledge that I have ever seen assembled. If someone studied what is contained within that set, your trading decision making process with change tremendously. I am not telling anyone what to do, I am telling that there is knowledge available by watching, reading and some study that could change your trading failures. Guess what, its's not that hard. The hardest part of anything is starting, nothing more.
