Hi. If I have placed a pending order through the Metatrader 4 platform, is that order sent to the order server immediately or does Metatrader create a market order only when the conditions for the pending order are satisfied? I am trying to determine whether I need to keep Metatrader running on my computer after I have placed one or more pending orders.

Once accepted by your broker, the pending order exists on your broker's server (server-side), not on your platform (client-side).

So, after successfully submitting the pending order, you can turn off your platform, and the pending order will still exist on your broker's server (and will be executed when the market reaches its pending entry price).
