"Making MetaTrader your own"

This tutorial will show you how to customize the layout of MetaTrader. We won't delve into the intricacies of changing chart colors and things, but, we'll show you how to create and load templates and how to leverage the power of profiles.

hello guys ..

Because it's about Meta Trader so i'll post my question here ..

i'de like to know .. when i try 2 or more brokers at THE SAME TIME which uses MT4 , the price is different & even the candles , they dont look the same .. for example if u choose a 1H chart , look at the candle before the one of the current hour .. It will look different with every broker .

So can anyone tell me plz about these points !!
The candles & the Price .

(( By the way .. what i always try are SWISS brokers ))

Thanx a lot .

No it is not possible according to there help desk. For EST you just add 4 hours to there time.

One additional thing I have not seen mentioned in the forum.

This morning my demo account expired. Got on in the wee hours to trade "live". I use another platform for trade entries. Anyway my MT4 was froze on yesterdays numbers. After e-mailing MT4 help " they are very good" I was informed that the Demo expires after 20 days. I know I read someplace that there demo did not expire but O well. Once you get accustome to there charts I think you are hooked. I guess I will have to "pony up" $500 to open an account with them so I can use the charts unless some nice member will direct me to comparable charts for free. Hope Hope.

This tutorial will show you how to get setup initially with MetaTrader. We assume that you've already downloaded MetaTrader from http://www.metaquotes.net.

The tutorial will review how to get an initial account and some of the basic MetaTrader functions.

Dorothy,

PM me if you're still having problems. I checked the link and it is fine. You need to make sure you have Flash installed as a plugin for your browser. But, without knowing the error you're getting, I'm not sure how to help.

Can you please guide me to the tutorial that covers 'ORDER ENTRY BASICS', as I don't seem to be able to find this, yet it is referred to in a list of the topics covered by the various tutorials.

These are extremely useful to new MT4 users and I thank you and really appreciate your posts.

Double left mouse click on the trend line. You should see three dots on the trend line. Then right mouse click on the trend line and select 'trend line properties' from the window. Select the 'parameters' tab and remove the check mark in the 'ray' box.

You can always open a demo with a new broker or you can just switch server files as discussed in this THREAD.

Forgive me if the answer has been posted elsewhere, but my broker (Alpari) provides MT4 feeds timed at an hour ahead of me. I assume they are in Europe and I'm in UK. Is it possible to change this?

I know what [sl] means but, for the first time I saw [sl/gap] in my accounts closed window. What exactly would this mean?

Thank you in anticipation.

If your talking about indicators the simple answer is if you save indicator files, *.mq4 to the 'program files\MetaTrader\experts\indicators' folder after you restart MT4 they will be compiled to *.ex4 files automatically and will appear under 'Custom indicators' in the MetaTrader Navigator. Note: the MetaTrader folder name will vary depending on where you downloaded the the MT4 demo from which effects where it is installed.

Feel free to ask more questions after watching the tutorials on FF. Note the lesson in post #4. You might also do some reading on this web site. http://www.metatrader.info/node/35

You can not change the MT4 time it is set by the broker. If your talking about a demo you can download a demo from a different company. Most times vary from 0 GMT to +3 GMT.

I'm not sure of the meaning of 'gap'. You might ask someone with an Alpari account or phone the broker if it is not in their FAQ section if nobody answers the question.
