Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a used notebook released around 2013-ish. My current one is from 2007.
I've already found 2 candidates. Both are from around 2013. Could you help me decide which of these 2 notebooks will run MT4 faster?
By the way:
I use lots of charts. But only 1 chart on the screen at the same time.
I don't do automatic strategy testing.
I only use 1-2 normal trading indicators but lots of "utility" indicators (shortcuts, tools etc, to make my MT4 life easier).
I don't do data logging, so writing to disk should be on normal levels.
The notebook will really only used for MT4, rarely for MT5.
Please keep in mind: I currently have no time or money to look for different models or do HDD/SDD/RAM upgrades.
Notebook 1:
CPU: i5-4300M (2.6 GHz - 3.3 GHz, max 2 cores)
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
HDD: 128 GB SSD
OS: Windows 7 Pro
Notebook 2:
CPU: i7-4702MQ (2.2 GHz - 3.2 GHz, max 4 cores)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
HDD: 1 TB, 5400 RPM
OS: Windows 8
=> Which would you recommend for running MT4?
PS: I already searched the FF archives and have found some good info (see PDF attached for those who want to improve their MT4 performance), but I have a hard time deciding as far as these 2 notebooks are concerned.
