how can we read in mql from a mysql database?

I like to check if it could be to use for licence. EA check via mysql if licence name and serial is ok. Is that possible?

In general:
To access a MySQL database from MQL you have to use the standard C/C++ api. In this case that's libmysql.dll. However in almost all possible scenarios that's not the way to go. If you really need a database to store data (again a *NO* in almost all possible cases) you would use a lightweight one like SQLite as you just have to handle a single file. Again, SQLite offers a standard C/C++ api in form of a DLL.

The best approach for storing/retrieving simple-structured data is a standard Windows .ini file. It allows you to manage key-value pairs (no relations) and you use it with standard Win32 api functions. No additional DLLs needed.

If your data becomes more complex the next step is the standard Windows registry. It allows you to store/retrieve data in tree-like structures. Again no additional DLLs needed.

If you need to access remotely stored data the next step is data storage/retrieval via a most simple REST api. For this you need standard Win32 api HTTP functions. Again no need for additional DLLs.

Look-up all those terms and read as much as you can to understand the technologies and their implications for your use-case.
