I have just received a very nice and clever Private Message about yesterday's trading! My hugs to the writer...

It is not easy to find a balance.
Moreover when my "contract" was to be always serious and respectful of the "True" Trading Rules...
and when I am under constant and continuous judgement by my audience (whatever their aims are... LOL )

In the end (respecting the double premise...), each day in front of the screen the question is simple.

Movements in the direction of the Primary Trend are interrupted at intervals by Secondary Swings in the opposite direction
— reactions or “corrections” that occur when the Primary Move has temporarily “gotten ahead of itself.”
Finally, the Secondary Trends are composed of Minor Trends or day-to-day fluctuations
(which were unimportant to the real, actual Dow Theory!!!!)

I didn't stay, standing still with my sword in the hands, against the freight train coming out of the tunnel as all the imbeciles do on FF!
I simply played as a Bull when the Bulls were playing. (Proper "Contrarian Trading", capital letters!)... searching for the end of the retrace.
As st1 wrote: I was waiting and searching for the big Bulls entry. (Dealers' techninque and old Livermore technique)
And I made a lot of points.

This, dear fti, it is the way to try to explain in the proper way the real meaning of "There is no right and no wrong!"

This for yesterday... Trend remained and remains UP!
For the Primary trend evolution we will see in the next days.

What time frame to trade?
Always the same?
Is it correct to vary? (And why we do that? And the consequences of that?)
What to do when we have contrasting TFs? (which one is better to follow: the short or the longer?)
What does it mean "Trade Your Plan..."?

It's a big contradiction. I'm not able to give a straight answer.
It happened to Livermore and to Gann as well.
I know that it is better to remain in the Now and my strenght is "Scaling in & out"...
but sometimes I feel the need to go for the big shot.
I can only say this: each time that I abandon the Now to do something that I think smart....
I end up facing a retrace much, much deeper than my "reading..."! LOL.
So that is something the Market knows...

At the end of the day I live it as a mistake despite the victory: my strategy is to remain in the Now of the short TF!
Use my experience to elaborate your personal deductions.
But, first of all, try to understand what I did (as st1 did.)
I made for sure more points with my going against this retracement... than each one of you staying with this short term trend.

About me and my music.

After several years of serious academic study, about 10 years ago I had to stop playing and I sold all my guitars except one.
Strong cramps and hand pains prevented me even from sligthly tightening the neck of my guitar.
Last year I begin again to try to return to play.
Nowadays, after months of rehabilitation exercises I can obtain some (terrible and frightening ) sounds again...
and I'm really the happiest person in the world.
Just 10 minutes, 15... but with great pleasure.


Hey, no regrets. It's the cycle of life. Getting old is natural. Adapt, it's the Rule.

Doing well here my friend in kicking the door open a little for others to understand, the trend within trend thing most people I find struggle to understand it and trying to explain it well…. Although when you do finally fully ‘get it’ you can not see why it was so hard to understand, it is very logical in its make up.
