Really wish I could trust FXCM, been with them for years and totally used to their platform. Just opened an fxpro demo. Frustrating the fuck out of me trying to get used to it .

The insolvency proceedings of a broker takes some time. I read a bit ago that it can even take some months to get your money back.

I used trading station since i started trading and was forced to switch to MT4. However i do my analysis with tradingview it is similiar to trading station and i only use MT4 to manage my orders.

I got to know FXCM after taking the professional trading course from EA Forex Academy. Petko Aleksandrov was using their platform in the course, and I really enjoyed it since this time. However, I am trading small account and have no any problems till this moment. Also, they have quick support which is useful sometimes.

Should I be worried about FXCM going broke or not being able to continue operating in the EU?.

I must say I have been using fxcm for 4+ years demo and live account and never had any big problems. Actually I have tried other brokers and fxcm seemed to me the one that offered the most flexible trading.

There is no limit for stop loss
The lot size is super flexible and almost anybody can trade no matter the account size.


But the latest news about fxcm worried me about its future.

If I should move my account what other brokers are good with EU regulation for CFDs and indices?. I don't want a broker with offices in some lost place.

they have strict regulation. Even if they break that money will still be returned

First I just want to say hi to everyone since I'm a newbie on here. The amount of knowledge and info I've gotten off of hear has been great. I just had a question about fxcm. I'm currently using their demo acct and it seems like every Friday around this time(8pm est) I can't get into my account. I'd like to get in and close my positions but when I try to log on I keep getting a "The connection with the server has been reset" error. I just wanted to see if anyone else has this issue(live or demo). I don't want to run into this problem when I decide to do this live. (I'm sure I probably will though).

They close at 5pm EST mate.At the moment that's 10pm (GMT +1) It changes according to daylight saving.

Hi Role,

Welcome! Forex Factory tends to have a friendly crowd and you will find many knowledgeable traders here to help you on your trading journey. FXCM's trading hours vary by product. For forex, trading opens on Sundays between 5:00 PM NY time and 5:15 PM NY and closes on Fridays approimately 4:55 PM NY time. We routinely perform system maintenance while the market is closed which is why you would not have been able to login on Friday around 8pm. Once maintenance is complete you will be able to login to view your account, but keep in mind trades cannot be placed while trading is closed. CFD trading hours tend to correspond with the exchange on which the CFD product references and those trading hours can be found here.

That's interesting. Where did you calculate that number from,or how did you come up with that number?
