looks like they are up to their same old tricks, i even knew someone who used them when ever she was in a profitable trade her system would freeze until the trade was a loser

Well, here is what happened during durable goods announcement just now. FXCM widened the spread on their NDD to 9 pips on euro. But guess what? They immediately froze their platform after the news and the freeze lasted 10 minutes. They were online but did not let any trades go through; you could click on buy or sell and get the sound of trades being rejected each time.

Same old FXCM guys, as if we didn't know already. They've repackaged their old platform for different marketing.

Yes, FXCM just continue to suck suck suck... there is no reason to ever think they will change !!!

I find it hard to belive that Boris and Kathy work for such an organization... they should be above that !!

Let us all keep this thread alive and well so newbies can be warned to stay away from FXCM

I'm just surprised that no one has come foward and sue their malicious practices. Where are all the punitive damage hungry lawyers who can pursue a class action suit to get the ball rolling? I'm sure there's enough people to sign up to give them a big enough incentive take the case right? Sometimes the law is just blind (not fair but literally turn the other way).

Was this on there no dealer option retail platofrm or was you on there dealer platform.

I trade with FXCM I loose most of the time(99%) but I will not blame FXCM. Yes I argued with FXCM reps to show my side , they will not agree with you , as they are nice to me .........I will stay with FXCM .....There is a saying in my native languge it says this "when you can't dance ......you tell the surface was not good to dance on" Same thing for our mistakes we can't blame tha broker lol . This just my humble opinion .........Please don't get mad at me.

anyone know of good ways in trading to use the S/R levels displayed by IFR / FXCM?
From what I have seen of their FXCMtr website, the informationa dn recommendations are fairly worthless. The signals which are part of the news feature on their platform sometimes have some worthwhile trades. I would not blindly use them but if you take their trade recommendations and evaluate them yourself, sometimes they are worthwhile and are things you might have missed otherwise. the only problem with those signals is that they are frequently late. I have never done percentages on their trades since I so rarely follow any of their recommendations, but I would say that they are above 50% profitable trades BUT their stop losses are sometimes very large in comparison with their potential profit.

Although I dislike FXCM intensely, I believe the above advice to be as unbiased as you are likely to get.
I was wondering more not about their signals per se, but ways to use their support/resistance levels as well as the directions these support/resistance levels seem to indicate.

For e.g. I like the ones that say "Buy Break, Sell Failure" or similar. It seems to indicate that this an important resistance level.

But if anyone has any ideas of good ways to trade their S/R levels, let me know.

I like that these S/R levels are updated frequently.

FXCM are nice to you because by your own admission, you are losing money. Were you to start making money consistently, then they will open their bag of tricks.

To use your analogy above, were you to know how to dance, then you will see that the FXCM dance floor suddenly becomes very greasy
Why I have an FXCM account?

I keep a paltry sum in there just so I can access their SSI report on their website. It reflects total positioning held in the accounts by their clients.....

Other than that stay away from these cheats.

Here is the problem that I'm not sure if you are aware of or not. If I look at the netdania chart (which is FXCM datafeed), today's high on the GBP/USD is 1.9816. On the other hand, on my accuchart (FxSol datafeed), the high for the pound is 1.9846. My metatrader chart (IBFX datafeed) shows me the high of 1.9848. That's 30 pips difference if you go long.

So, can you tell me if FXCM is reliable or not?

ps: I'm not mad at you, but I want you to think very clearly about choosing the broker.

Part of being or in becoming a successful trader or investor is to choose the right broker, part of the entire checklist when it comes working toward protecting your money and making it grow. Leaving it will catch up with you sooner or later.
FXCM is the best broker concerning customer care. Whether you lose or win, this comes from your side, your strategy, etc.... and not from the broker side.
Moe, just standard.

I had been recently testing the new NO DEALING DESK option with FXCM (Forex Capital Markets) as they advertised rapid execution even during news releases ie. macroeconomic reports. I wanted to test it on Non-Farm-Payrolls (November the 3rd, 2006) and found following:

1. FXCM filled me on my resting order even before the price in the streaming prices window displayed the price (rate) I wanted to have.

2. The stop/loss was not executed I had to manually exit the trade.

3. FXCM filled me on the highest ask priced noted on this day. (17 pips slippage)

4. FXCM executed the trade whole minute and displayed it after the market went down ca. 100 pips. I was unable to change the parameters of the order during that time.

The FXCM Non Dealing Desk is no more than their old platform repackaged except its worse than the original platform. Slippage, execution at top or bottom of the spike, freezing platform, you name it. And now I notice in your case, stops not honoured. It's all their usual tricks.

I tried them with a small account, way smaller than your account. Just like you I was filled at worse possible rate at bottom of spike and in my case the platform froze. And of course, a retracement happened and I got a margin call. Lucky just a few mini lots. Now just waiting to recover amount lost, although small, plus costs to pull out. Not leaving them a cent.
