Expiriences with Collective2?

I'm interested if you've had any experiences with this site, either as taking signals or giving signals. How big is it? Looking at the systems I can't tell how many subscribers a system has, so I have no idea how much money or clients are they getting. Can you just rely on the site itself and people who visit it to make money or you gotta market it around?

I've avoided collective2 for exactly the reasons specified. There is insufficient transparency to earn my trust. I don't want a series of signals, what I want are more trading concepts that I could adapt as needed. They aim for a "black box" mentality... which in my experience is a losing proposition.

in general it is not bad. it keeps a good track record of systems. so if you are looking for a black box solution then at least you can see a reliable 3rd party monitoring.

I was a subscriber in 2006 and 2007 to quite of few forex signal providers on collective2.com like

- Currency Scalper
- The Lions Share
- USD-CAD Mover
- Bursttrading.com
- Entropia (due to lack of interest from subscribers, this system is not
operational anymore)
- RT Forex North (still in operation per today)
- Positive Forex (from 100,000 USD up to almost 480,000.00 and then
down to ~ USD 28,000.00 now. this is no joke, check it for yourself)
- Hawk-fx (from 100,000.00 USD up to USD 1,400,000.00 and down now
to ~ USD 400,000.00).

They all had different strategies from conversative with lower returns, of course, to highly speculative/aggressive and I usually had two or three of them for a few months to watch it and to have a balance (not putting all eggs in one basket!).

ALL of them were in 2006 and 2007 highly ranked and very popular at that time.

My personal experience was now: I already un-subscribed to all of them in spring 2007.
The statistics look very nice but in reality it was often impossible to follow when the market was on the run and you get your email 3,4,5 minutes later.
And even when you subscribed to the ITM's it was pretty difficult to watch it and to react in a minute.

Even systems which generated signals once a day including a predetermined stop-limit trigger order and appropriate associated take profit and stop loss orders didn't work.

Some of the above systems disappeard but some like Positive Forex or Hawk-fx are still there in May 2008 but look at their results: a disaster!

Just to remember: this were one of the superstars in 2006/2007 and now large losses. I still know the time when Hawk-fx went down and down for newcomers and there was no reaction from Hawk-fx. There were many complaints.
But thus is trading and you have absolutely no guarantee that the stars today are the stars tomorrow.

I have no idea how many subscribers are using it. Checking it with alexa.com it appears he had better times last year. The page views are decreasing since October 2007. Now slightly increasing in May for whatever reason.

Well, that's my experience. A bit lenghty but more in details.
Learn trading and develop your own system and don't rely to much on others. They don't give you the money back you are loosing with their system.

Matthew Klein does his best and he is honest in my opinion and not biased towards traders but he cannot tell you "the best system now and in future".

Question, hoping someone can shed some light on this..

Where does Collective2 get the data they publish on their site? I have contacted a few data feed providers and the are quoting 10k a month to access exchanges/display data on our site. How do they do this? It seems as though anyone can create an account with them and view a data feed... Any suggestions/recommendations if I wanted to mimic this for a different commercial application?
