Using Meta Trader to analyse stocks?

Good day! I was wondering whether I can use Meta Trader to plot a chart of a stock, probably from a CSV file? The indicators are fabulous, and it is a waste if I need to program my indicators again elsewhere in a stock charting package.

Anyway, I digress. Is there any good and free stock charting software with features like Meta Trader?

there are several mt4 forex providers that offer stocks as well. NorthFinance is one I can think of right now.

Oh, Windsor Brokers is another.

Neither offers all of the stocks but enough to get you started.

Those are CFDs actually. Don't think both brokers are regulated by NFA.

I believe you are right those are CFD's however, they show at the same price as the stock and you could use them to analyze the stock price action.

If you can code mql4, you can build a script that converts your stock quote csv file to a hst file that can be opened by metatrader in offline mode.

Are you sure that CFD quotes show the same prices of real stocks? how can it be proved? sorry for my english

Well, Alpari also has cfd on american stocks. I contacted their customer support and they told me that the CFD quotes differ from the stock quotes which are traded on real exchange, but they told me the difference is not significant. how much is that "not significant" i don't know. hope that "not significant" won't make a margin call for anybody.
