Hi Everyone,
I need some help writing a trendline indicator. I don't think it would be that hard for someone who knows what he/she is doing, but for me, writing code in MT4 is rather difficult. I spend most of my time developing new ideas and experimenting rather than learning how to program.
Anyway, what I want to do is draw a daily slope line through each day's price action before the price action actually occurs. In order to do that, I take a portion of yesterday's slope and project it onto today. This appears to be working well with some other methods I've developed. Below is a screenshot of what I have in mind:
Here's the basic math involved:
1. Find the difference between yesterday's open and close (Close - Open)
2. Divide that value by 3
3. The time to start the trendline is at the time of today's open
4. The place to start it is today's open - (minus) value found in #2
5. The time to end the trendline is at the last bar of the day
6. The place to end it is today's open + (plus) value found in #2
Any help would be appreciated, Even if you aren't willing to write the code, pointers are welcome!
