Hi Ken,

Wow, where did you get this baby from? It seems to rock, especially on 4H charts!

I've done the email thingy and tested in 1m charts (i'd have to wait forever to test in longer TFs). Shouldn't make any difference but we'll find out.

When you first launch your metatrader, it'll send you a false email for each pair you're using the indicator on. I couldn't think of a way to avoid that right now without complicating my life (already complicated) too much. But it's only one quick burst.

After that, it'll send you an email when the colour has changed from green to red or otherwise.

In settings, there's a variable called Wait4Close. If you set that to true (default), it will send you an email after the first candle of the new trend has closed. The reason is, this indicator turns green and red back and forward while the candle is still running.

You can change that setting to "false" and it'll send you an email as soon as the current candle "turns red or green" (if you get what I mean).

See what you think. Any problems or glitches, just yell out!

Happy Trading
Marty

Marty,
Any chance you might program the same type of email notification into the dpo indicator on the 0 cross

Many thanks

Here you go. Tell me if it does what you want.

Note: it'll only send an alert after the candle has closed. Otherwise you'd be getting false alerts. But if you want that changed, let me know.

This one really works. The previous one said "up" when it was down etc... Not that it matters cos a cross is a cross and you have to jump to your screen anyway to see what's going on. But anyway. Also, this version displays the closing price of the "offending" bar.....

Your broker is lying. The MT4 platform sends emails.

Make sure you setup your email details in menu, tools, options, email. These should be entered automatically (at least they are on mine) during registration.

By the way, do you use interbank for live trading, or demo only? If demo, you might want to consider using other brokers. I've fount interbank demo servers are choppy with their accuracy and data provision. Sometimes they have more pairs to offer, sometimes less.....

Let me know how you went with your email.

I use IBFX for live trading and have tried several ways to set up email notification. They claim it won't happen with their MT4 platform. On their own forum they have a post telling how to set it up but then claim it doesn't work with web based email- gmail, yahoo etc.. I'll keep after it-thanks for your reply tho.

Oh, now it makes sense!

I understand (and again, I might be totally wrong here!) that it's not the dealer's server that sends the email; it's your own computer! In other words, MT4 uses your own email provider to send an email to yourself. That would explain why web-based emails don't work.

I just set mine up today with interbank after trying several other POP emails. The email provided by my ISP sbc/att worked immediately. Contact your ISP, they will help set you up. Once you have that email set up in outlook, the Mt4 platform almost configures itself... I just bumped unto this thread because I had the repeating email issue..first I couldn't get any, now I'm getting too much

Hi Marty,
Any chance you could have this indicator with an option to turn rmail off or on. That would solve the problem of it sending email everytime you reload the profile or change timeframes.

Thanks...Mike G
