Directly copied from fresh article on the subject (forexmagnates):

”
Most importantly, the ESMA has proven that the fabric of the European Union’s institutions is shifting into a direction that is only welcoming to big corporations with the accompanying lobby groups.

Nope, I haven't got a clue what such a wonderful phenomenon is, would you like to explain its benefits to me and how it's a one way money ticket to untold riches?

SB, not all people here are “job quit” dreamers.

some of them are just magnifying income (just as all banks and corporations do worldwide) by using the financial markets.

And such directives effectively are reducing the capital available for actual trading thus excluding regular people from markets - I guess this is corporate/banks dreamland.

Heh, sure you know my account, and my career.

You wear Theressa Mays wet under pants who wants ban encryption, privacy. You shout on street to kids, dont be so loud.
Wear helmets if you run. Your life must be missery. Move to china and have citizen score, and your dream dystopia.

Mind your own bussiness and not others, if you have.

Ass i told you earlier, your belly is full of shit.

Delusional, we’re quite happy to turn you upside down, empty your pockets, shake you down and toss you into a garbage dump once you’re rinsed, ESMA are spoiling some of our fun.

{quote} It's absolutely amazing to me that they are begging the ESMA to keep the one thing that destroys them: insanely high leverage.

A few ideas on the topic from me.

The facts:

1. The new regulations apply only to retail traders.
2. By default the retail traders are categorized as non-professional investors!

The potential solution:

From a legal standpoint we still have a loophole in the system. You can ask your broker to categorize you as professional client.
The benefit from this is that you will not be affected by the new restrictions.
The downside is that you will lose all kinds of protections. There is no protections for the professional investors. So you are on your own and you have to calculate your risks wisely.

I think that some brokers and traders will try to exploit this opportunity in the near future.

Yep, there’ll be a requirement for a certain level of deposit in order for you to be classed as a professional, perhaps 50k.
