I know what you are talking about. Maybe our knowledge is different. I also had a period of research. The fundamental analysis affects the price every day. Technical analysis like PASR to clarify and look for price zones that create liquidity where price can go. The market for me consists of price, levels, news, traps and liquidity. These factors combine to create price action (I mean price action not a few candles). (Also, this was my problem before, I used to ask myself why don't I trade without stop loss, so that when the price comes back with a retrace I can break even. But my mind does not allow this. Because I want to be a consistently profitable trader and control my losses. Because I don't want what I make to lose in one trade, and this could blow up my account).
It seems like I missed a really good discussion here so just to add from my experience:


Terry - The more you study and use the Strat shadow, the more it becomes clear that you don't really need anything else for successful trading.

Terry, I think you got carried away a little with your findings. While the Strat Shadow is very important in PASR, it is ONLY one of our tools. Much more important than technical tools are our Psyche/Trading Psychology and Money Management.


Suran - PRICE does not care historical strat shadow crossing. more importantly there are other confluences happen at the same level (and the fundamentals support) then PRICE would react

Corrina - TerryDawe, I've checked through all the 28 of the major currency pairs that we usually trade again, I find that we can't use the shadow crossing for support and resistance just as Suran said "PRICE does not care historical Strat shadow crossing." Especially for pairs that trend for a long time maybe for years, the crossing become insignificant for the purpose. And for ranging pairs, there will be too many crossing horizontally to let us decide which one to take.

But it is of no harm to draw a line on the chart to remind us to be careful.Just like any other S&R lines, price might reverse or break out from them. These are places where we can take some profit.

Suran, since the thread is very quiet lately, it is good to discuss all our ideas regarding the Strat method openly so that we all can learn from one another. Be it right or wrong, we learn from our mistake.

Terry It is true that this alone is not sufficient but when there is confluence with other things such as BRN, 200ema, fib levels etc. I find it useful to have it marked on my charts.

Sanji - Maybe our knowledge is different.

These are all very important and valid points. Just as a refresher, PASR is PRICE ACTION at SUPPORT and RESISTANCE.

PRICE ACTION can be one candle, a series of candles, a technical pattern or PRICE structure - H-L-HH-HL etc. SUPPORT AND RESISTANCE can be a PRICE LEVEL on one time frame, the same PRICE level on many time frames, static levels, dynamic levels, and pauses etc., - the more CONFLUENCES we get at these levels - Strat Shadow, MAs, fibonacci, Gann, MA crossings, BRNs, Market Highs and Lows etc., the MORE confidence (greater probability of profit) we have in placing our trades. Fundamentals factor into this especially news events, geopolitcal events, natural disasters and WAR.

Corrina - since the thread is very quiet lately, it is good to discuss all our ideas regarding the Strat method openly so that we all can learn from one another. Be it right or wrong, we learn from our mistake.

This requires contribution from everyone - old or new - I can continue to post my Stock Indices trades after I have finished my couple of hours trading but it seems they are of no value and, being just routine PASR, are basically boring.

Just to clarify my point...I DID NOT say recent strat shadows crossings not important.. only said historical crossings not important.

As you know already I am trading totaly diferently from every body else here..and paid thousands of dollers to get it..I dont think I should talk about how I reading the market in public spaces.And further more dont want to clutter this thread with various other ways of trading...So thats why I lend my help to talk these in pvt to fellow students here. accepting it or not is thier choice..

Strat, 13 years in FF is not a short period. I salute to your hard work and dedication to up keep this thread. A lot of us had benefited from your teaching and tireless coaching. Some had even became successful traders.

Thanks for posting this Strat, great especially for the naysayers who don't see the value of the strat shadow and consider it just another set of moving averages.
Also a big congrats on the anniversary tomorrow, you have been very giving of yourself and your time out of the goodness of your heart.

Got spooked by 200ema and then PRICE just traded in a congestion around it so gave up after my 2 hours.

Just came back to see that if I had only waited another 30 minutes, there was a monster trade off support and the Strat Shadow, followed by an equal monster reversal off resistance. Oh well, that's trading but there is always tomorrow!

Those two nice bearish candles at the top of your chart signaled good trades down and back to the 200ema.
