Bad discipline did not look for simple entry. Should have stay out on most of the charts.

I was looking at the same chart this morning for a paper trade but I didnt like the retracement marked with the first arrow and after the candle on the second arrow I quit.

I was on and off on the charts and I missed some entries for a couple of pips

In addition to the comments from LR, Rub and Terry, I do not understand why you want to trade a pair which has no clear direction from the Big Boys. We need to trade pairs which are actively being bought/sold on one direction, which clearly, USDCAD is not. The probability of success (profit) in a directionless pair is 50/50 - a coin toss. We need to find pairs which have a high probability of profit.

PRICE structure on the Big Boss is L - H - HL so it would be normal to expect a HH or, at least, the same High but this is GBP and BREXIT so who knows?

But not smart! That was a BIG candle and FAR from the 20 giving you a large Stop Loss relative to R:R

You are not watching how PRICE behaves in a trend! You should have got out with a stop above the high of that green inside candle, 3 candles after your entry

(3) Price closed below Strat Shadow, check if trend resumed

NO - PRICE closed at SR!

Big Boss:

Strat Shadow positive. Retracement on go back to Strat Shadow. No PA as yet on Strat Shadow or Support indicating that the upward trend is resuming.

Boss:

Worker:

The Doji's with long upper wicks when price started wobling looked like a good place to start going short. Not having great PA I decided to drop down to the 4 hour frame and entered short indicated by the blue arrow.

Strictly Trading Countertrend Basic PASR I should have exited at the bluecircle when price hit Support. But in my mind I was trading the weekly swing on the worker. On that frame no exit was indicated yet so I stuck in there BUT KEPT ON WATCHING ON THE 4HOUR FRAME how the price went up and down. I I was trading the 4hour frame I essentialy could have done the same trade three times. But I was THINKING I was trading the weekly swing on the worker and hoping for more down side and really should still be in the trade if I was trading that frame.

Dunno if this makes sense but the fact that this was counter to the Strat Shadow on Big Boss and Boss and watching on 4 hour instead of Worker after I entered and having price fluctuation up and down gave me cold feet and I decided to call it a day while I was ahead. According to my plan I should havestuck it out until I had a confirmed low on the Boss.

Alright, avoid initial entry on large candle.

Why would you sell after a Hammer? Was gonna answer until I restudy the chart. It is just plain bad.

I need to practice more and not throwing basics of PASR out of the window when doing it. It feel like its something that I already known but it practically doesn't sink in brain enough that it just lost.

How can making 131 pips be a losing trade? I accidentally paste the same line again on that post. Sorry.

I was studying my mistakes along the way while I was writing this posts so it took quite awhile.

This is done before I read the thread. So I probably still making some similar mistakes.

(A) Show potential strong momentum to upside, something happened before I start looking at chart.
(0) A sign of trend could already started.
(1) (2) (3) 3 BEEB that against the trend.
(4) I still entry on Hammer anyway, it is a strong hammer retesting the psychological level.
(5) Shooting Star-ish candle, but the price does not close below this candle afterward.
(6) BEOB, but the wick show that buyers are still buying
(7) Strat shadow support the BUEB toward the past 5 candle highest close.
(8) BUOB on previous high
(9) BUEB from SR carried from earlier
(10) BEOB start appearing again.
(11) BUEB from previous high, the wick show that there are seller around.
(12) Shooting star on SR (may be I should've exit here or (14)), followed by BEOB as well.
(13) Doesn't make a higher low, long upper wick, indicate that the trend could be ending.
(14) BEOB (for some reason I did not exit immediately)
(15) Strong indication of downward momentum, exit.

Hi Pete,

Here just my view. It could go further down, but then even if it does, then you are not trading Basic PASR anymore. Basic PASR is just trade from one SR to another SR.
