Hey everyone, I've been lurking this place while paper trading for a few years (aprox. since 2005), and now I've decided to open a live account.
The thing is, I'd like to be able to download historic (Daily timeframe) prices for whatever broker I'll use, to do some analysis before opening an account.
When I started paper trading in 2005 I used Oanda. I then moved to alpari (MT4) mainly because of the platform, and all the options it offers. One of the many great things about MT4 is that it allows saving price data as a csv file, so you can open data ordered in a spreadsheet so you can do lots of analysis.
I'm hesitant to open an account with any MT4 broker though, as they all seem to be small, so they don't inspire much confidence in the safety of funds.
Do you know any broker whose platform (not MT4) allows to save historic prices to a spreadsheet file?
I could use MT4 with a demo account for my analysis and executing on oanda or some other big broker, but I'd really prefer to use the actual broker's data for my analysis, as I've seen considerable differences between alpari demo and oanda demo prices. I assume most brokers do have these differences.
Any help will be appreciated.
