Does anyone know where I can find the minimum system requirements for MT4? I've been looking, but not having any luck. I'm trying to set up a dedicated server and need some specific info. Thx.

Quoting ycompDislikedI really think it depends on your EA and indicators... some are sloppily written and they hog the cpu... many work very well though, so really it depends.
also how many charts with EA and indicators on them is a big factor too...
and how many instances of MT running also factors in
so bottom line is you just gotta test it.
If you have an entire dedicated server I think you should be fine... just set up a new computer like that to test it at home. If it works fine on your new computer, should work fine on a dedicated server that has roughly the same hardware (cpu speed, memory)
If you are talking about sharing the dedicated server with other people, then well I wouldn't suggest this but I haven't tried it. I'm sure it all depends on the factors I wrote above.
and the other thing to remember too is where you put the server. some places are much safer than others. myspace went offline the other day because of some heatwave in california... maybe find an north east provider and find out how the hosting company fared during the blackout in the north east in 2003. If they kept everything online or not... (I really don't know anything about this or whether all internet went down at that time or not over there... we were under the same blackout here so I couldn't watch the news)
I am just saying this blackout thing is a good way to know how reliable the provider is.
but I guess the main thing is don't use any style of trading that can potentially wipe out your account if your server is down for a day or 2.Ignored
