Been looking around high and low for a simple way to get instant update notifications of the new items that come thru on the news and breaking news feeds on my android. It doesn't existing currently, oddly. I tried linking the RSS feeds to some of the more popular RSS apps on Google Play and I came across two dealbreakers:
1) They didn't seem to be reliable, syncing doesn't load new stories
2) They sync at time intervals, 5 minutes being the smallest I've seen
3) Even so, the one that was the most promising (gReader), seems to do the sound notification every sync regardless if there is any news stories or not.
None of this works, however. What I need is an instant notification sounder that goes off the moment there is something new in the FF news stream (non-calendar and calendar too if possible).
You ask, why not just use another source? I've looked and FF has the best and most diverse news stream that I've seen without all the extra bloat stories. And they cover all of the VIP news sources IMO.
I even saw a forex factory apk on some BS apk website. The app looks like an indie. It can't be found on Google Play. I rolled the dice and installed it without any issue. There is the news feed on there, but no settings to change. It would be amazing if someone could modify it or give me another way so that whenever something comes in on the FF news feed I could get a little notification of sorts. It would be even better if possibly I could have the option to have notifications per category where I can turn on and off which categories I want, but the main idea is news/breaking news and perhaps calendar news too if its not too much trouble.
