Confused about T3 indicator

I've run across two basic flavors of the Tillson T3 indicator - one which displays five different MAs and one which displays a single MA. Would someone clarify the difference between them and/or the reason there are two?

I've only come across the one that displays one.

If you see it as 5, I think it's incorrect.

It is the:

MA(MA(MA(MA(MA(MA(X)))))

Actually, my post was based on a post of yours in the HAT thread (which I'm following closely - I think you're on to something good) in which you expressed some frustration at all the indicators out there that return differing results. Me too...

I Googled "Tillson T3 formula" and found three slightly different formulas. My forte is programming, not mathematics, so I couldn't say which is correct.

I hate getting hung up in details like this! I guess I'll continue using the T3_mod2 that was posted to correct the yen problem and continue to look into the amazing variety of "T3" indicators drifting around.

I've been using T3_Nick and it's so far worked pretty well on MT4. Give it a try. It's buried somewhere in the HAT thread.
