Disliked{quote} I appreciate your commitment but market behaviour also changes over time. A good example was the bahaviour of the AUD today when the unemployment figures were released. Twelve months ago there would have been a rise in the AUD but lately the market seems to factor in an expectation on news releases and unless the data is vastly different there is little movement.Ignored
After two days of frustrated effort and bothering/annoying Dave, I have solved my M60 problem on back testing.
I opened a new MT4 and demo account, then added a zero at the end of the login number, which means that this MT4 is now permanently disconnected from the server and so files cannot be overwritten. So it is my dedicated MT4 back test platform.
I then deleted all fxt files from tester/history folder, and copied in the M60 data for 2016.
And now I can back test and optimise over a full 12 months period. So now the experiment can begin in earnest.
Of course optimising over 12 months is painfully slow, but then again if this approach is successful, it will be a once in a year task rather than more but quicker monthly tasks.
I just need my little fan blowing over my laptop to help keep it cool during these long optimisation runs.
