@mounir90: with 0.1 Lot you must have a TP of 30 (not 3)

Great work, Alex!

Only one DD of 2000 Euro in a 5000 Euro account by testing from Jan. 2016 to Nov. 2016 with 1500 Trades. The approximated probability of a DD is less than 0.1%! However, I would like to know how this system works in detail.

First, can you tell more about the parameters? They are not all self explaining.

Second, as far as I know is martingale a strategy where you will never win, as long as your expected pay off is negativ. In Roulette, martingale, will not work in the long run. Betting on red gives you twice your deposit. Your chance of winning red is slightly below 50%. 0.5*2 = 1. Your chance is below 50%, so you will get less than 1 euro for every 1 euro you bet. Can you explain, how this system will still win with martingale, since the best prediction of a price is 50% with a custim indicator like BB or MA crossing. Yes I tested that out. And any combination of TP / SL or periods, timeframes, pairs on BB will always give you 50% hit rate. Or rather, the hit rate is a formula of TP / SL, whose expected payoff is 0 minus your fees.

I would so much like to know, how martingale can work profitable. But Again, you have done great work! :-)

Third, from what I saw, there are overnight positions. So did you consider the swaps? Also, I can't find any option for the spread. Did I overlook that or is your calculation based on Bid and Ask prices by only considering the spread that can be changed in the backtester interface?

- for what bid and ask price ?

example: 1.05883 / 105886 + 0.4 Commisson

I click buy and then I have the price 1.05886 and what then ?

I have a TP 30 Pip = closed by 1.06186 exactly

for what I need the bid and ask price ?

with this Martingale I have swap + and I have swap - ??

if I have Equity net + 1% per day for what is then the swap interesting ?

@edge

Hi,

4 pips TP on EURUSD H1 from Jan 2016 to 31st Okt. 2016 with a Tickstory (fix) spread of 1.2 pips and a max. loss of 2000 with a 5000 euro account and 0.1 Lots volume. Everything else is default. I would like to discuss the logic of this EA with you in detail. I also have some ideas, that could help to avoid huge DD.

@ghostbiker

Bid and Ask matter. In my EA I normally use a function for a TP / SL in long position according to "opening price - spread" where spread is an external variable.

The Ask price in MT4 is calculated based on the Bid prices input where Ask = Bid + Spread (Spread as an external value not variable that can be chosen in the backtester interface). A long position will always be closed at the bid price and short at ask price. My question simply is if this is accounted for? It is a difference whether you implement Bid and Ask prices, or Spread respectively or if you don't.
