Hello all,
I launched TradeBuilder - Classic Edition back in 2010 with the objective of helping traders build original, customizable strategies based on compounding of indicators but without all the screen clutter that usually accompanies that process. Classic is now in its 7th year and 11th version, incorporating 33 indicators from all disciplines of technical analysis: oscillators, averages, crossovers, volume analysis, statistics, and so forth. Complete indicator list of Classic can be found here.
Over the years, we (the company I now run) developed and now offer several other products (MarketScalper, TrendSuite, PivotBuilder, Pandora 3x, etc.) but to this day TradeBuilder remains my personal top choice - as a developer and a trader. It may not be the fanciest and most expensive but it is by far the most customizable, something I always look for in a trading tool. Even after using it for 7 years I still find new indicator configurations that create strategies unique to my risk appetite and style of trading.
I wanted to wait until we had a "critical mass" of users before I went on and started a strategy-geared thread on FF. I believe we reached that number this year (around 800 users - many of whom are on this forum). We do have a user community of our own but it is much smaller, and forum software far less capable than what FF has to offer, which is why I decided to move our main strategy creation thread here. Although starting this thread may boost our sales, it is not the main reason why I'm doing this. The software may be powerful and intuitive to use but it can also be overwhelming for some users, especially those who are new to technical analysis - after all, 33 indicators present users with millions of strategy combinations. Each pair, time frame, and chart type has its own "rhythm" and while one indicator combination may be very profitable with one market, it may just as well be unprofitable with another. The purpose of this thread is to showcase specific, optimized TradeBuilder settings that have historically shown to work best with specific markets. Having developed TradeBuilder from scratch, including incorporation of each of the 33 indicators and 180+ parameters, I probably have the most experience with the software. Feel free to ask any relevant questions but please read the prior posts before you do so I don't spend time rehashing the same information.
Owning either of the TradeBuilder products (Classic or Core - see comparison) is recommended but not required. If you are not interested in purchasing them but wish to trade these strategies manually, you certainly can, as long as you and don't mind having a chart full of indicators - just follow indicator combinations and order triggers presented to trade along.
TradeBuilder indicator add-on includes email, pop-up, visual, audio, and push to phone notifications (via iOS and Android MT4 apps), while the expert adviser (EA) add-on enables traders to optimize settings, backtest, and automate trading.
It is important to note that although I take care in ensuring fair and thorough testing of settings (i.e. avoiding curve fitting), historical performance (no matter how far back it goes) is not necessarily indicative of future - there are so many variables in the economy (like Brexit) that can change behavior of even the most predictable of markets. Please do not hold me responsible for any losses you may endure.
My next post will jump straight into strategy creation, starting with the recent GBP/USD M5 trend following strategy that I published.
