Hey there. Thank you for the link. I have ordered the new Macbook on monday and hope to get it within the next two weeks. Before I bought it I was actually not going to get an apple yet because all of the forex platforms and mt4 run on windows only but then I saw the new apple bootcamp that lets you run windows natively on the mac just like it was a pc so now I can use the macbook to run windows xp and trade on it! And windows runs better on macs than it does on alot of PC's from what I have heard.

Hi Jojocal, is that the microsoft virtual pc which your thinking of using? Ive heard its ok but it can be unstable at times and that its best when running windows 2000 not xp.

I was thinking of getting another pc laptop along with my ibook just to run mt4 and trading using a java platform on the mac. I dont really want to go back to using a pc as i love the mac os but i guess i'll have to just for mt4.
There is some charting software avalible on the mac but its about $350 so I may as well buy a pc for that.

I wonder if Metaquotes are ever planning to release a mac version of MT, it would be nice

Hey Arcane, I wasnt actually talking about the virtual pc as I wouldnt use it because I too have heard its unstable. On the new Apples that have intel chips, you can run an apple program called bootcamp that lets you partition your harddrive and you can actually install a fresh copy of xp and boot up to windows just like it was a pc! No virtuality there, just straight up windows. But only the new apples with intel chips can run it. Maybe its time to trade in that ibook for a new macbook

Thanks for that link, will give it a look.

I use Parallels and run Windows XP within that with my trading platform on there. Works very well.

Edit - Just noticed this was years old!

sorry forgot to add using a VPS I use RDC for Mac so its much easier to use than the VM - I gave up with a Windows VM because it slows down the Mac too much when I have tons of other stuff open, and uses a huge amount fo disk space.
