The FOMC is expected to leave borrowing costs unchanged today as it maintains a "patient" monetary policy stance in the midst of a strategy rethink. It's a tough balancing act for Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, who will want to avoid sounding too dovish, due to the strength of the U.S. economy and the fact financial conditions have improved considerably in the last several months. Tilting to hawkish could also spook financial markets and draw the ire of President Trump, who yesterday called for the Fed to cut rates by a percentage point and a return to quantitative easing.....

The AJ scenario looks even closer each time. Pa is nearing the edge once again. low interest bubble, on commodities and stocks can pop easily. USD would have to rise with it.

I expect Powell not hawkish, I wonder he would be dovish enough to kill the dollar, since everyone expects a rate cut.
Per seasonality, dollar is always strong in May month.. we will see.. today is May 1......

He can do want he wants. If the AJ closes over the edge.. He can't do much about it early on. By the time they realise what's going on, have meetings etc. The horse will be out the gate. They will be standing around with their pecker in hand. Its a game of chicken. The retailers getting in last, will be holding the empty bag. Government will ask for the middle class to pay the bill. AJ pa is on the edge of a big crash (it still can back up from the edge) The backup is probably a good R/R bet. If it can not back up, then the world has a problem. If that happens, people will be writing all kinds of BS reasons on why it happened. They should be writing those before it happens, now. Not after the fact. The AJ is the pulse of the world's economic health.

No one is expecting a rate cut....chances are less than 3%

the last time AJ had a similar, small like situation. Was Dec 3 2018.

testing a like support. R/R on edge is better for a pullback, most often. U.S. equities are near all time highs atm. FOMC in 3 hours. Last time the AJ coughed, was a decent drop in equities..
