Of course, Live trading is going to be a different kettle of fish, but even so... until you are consistently returning profits on Sim, fighting your way back from losses as a matter of course - i wouldn't even consider making the switch.
Experience is King. There is simply no substitute. You can have all the best laid plans, but until you take (winning) trades without hesitation, it is pointless trying to prove that by going Live, you will have a different outcome.
This is a marathon, not a sprint.
I have had various stints of profitability with Forex over the years, but nothing that has ever lasted the course. The market always mixes things up enough, but recently, i feel like i can almost taste success. My fear of trading is diminishing every day.
I still want maybe another couple of weeks to a month of practicing taking trades off of fledgling channel lines when they coincide with a prior S/D level. It's the one method, that i don't think the market can do much about. They happen all of the time, everywhere.
It's all about matching each phase to a set of channel lines. There will be channels within channels. That is where practice is the key.
Yesterday, when i had my limit order sat on the lower trendline to go long, the PA was sat on the red line (red circle) and i said to myself, that's about to shoot downwards to the line (my order). I hesitated just for a second or two and then it dropped, no sooner had i realised there was a channel line touch (blue line above).
So again, that was a valid channel line and an easy 20 point drop (let's presume a +15 trade).
That's the beauty of the NQ on Futures. The set-ups come thick and fast. Decisions decisions, that is all this is about. Experience is King!
