DislikedHey guys, I think I will be joining you guys in the near future... finishing up my stint at the bank... and looking to trade live and try to survive.. hehe.. nothing more liberating... nothing more rewarding...nothing more satisfying at my young age.
I am new to retail forex.. exceptionally new actually.. I got to know some brokers from a FX convention that I attended.. i.e FXCM, IBFX, MF global, Dukascopy, etc.. I just need some help.. in figuring out which broker to select.. and was wondering if you guys with the loads of retail experience under...Ignored

DislikedMy apologies to fti and everyone else on this thread for behaving like a big baby yesterday. I have been having some personal problems and had not slept for about 30 hours...but still, no excuses really
I wasn't fishing for vouches as I don't deserve them for my trading ability, I just noticed that everyone seemed to be "buddies" and vouching for each other and there was me, "johnny no friends". Please excuse the melodrama!
I have been having loads of problems with my broker today - their new variable spreads are a bit wide, their...Ignored

About market strucuture.

Then under teir 1 banks will be tier 2 banks, and tier 3 banks, they function as the lines of distribution. If as in the eg above, alarge corp comes selling dlr and the CB dealers do not intervene, then the tier ! banks will start selling the dollar down to tier 2 banks in smaller packages, and tier two banks will like wise start selling to tier 3 banks in smaller packages. In 20 to 30 mins that process who fizz out and most dealers would be short of dollars. to a certain extent....Ignored
DislikedWell the one thing I do like about Alpari is that all your money is held in segregated accounts, unlike many other brokers who only
segregate a certain amount or none at all.
I was recommended to try Saxo Bank by a guy who trades out of Bangkok and absolutely loves them, but I coudln't stand their trading platform and their sales team are a bit too full on for me - I do not like being pushed into doing anything.
The fact my money may be safe with Alpari will...Ignored

DislikedUkman. I use Oanda. I like their platform very much because it is very simple. The widening of the spread during news does not bother me because I do not trades the news. I chart with Alpari(US).
By the way, it seems that finally I got a full time job, probably starting on October -of course, after my CEO-wife approve the move to North Carolina. Then my trading will focus into the Tokyo session...I will turn into a vampire!Ignored
DislikedI don't trade the news either - waht annoys me about Alpari's new variable spreads is that it goes to 10-15 pips for cable during the small hours - but maybe that is the same with Oanda?Ignored
DislikedCongratulations on the new job. Hope your move goes well.
I did try Oanda but I didn't really get on with their web platform - sometimes the links to the news and other things just didn't open when I clicked them and I don't like watching their charts. Also, I would have to pay a transfer fee to fund the account, as they are in the US. If Alpari keep messing about I will have another look at it though as I know the smaller lot sizes would be very handy for practising pressing attacks without overextending myself.
