Metatrader v4 build 940 - Issue with Strategy Tester

Hi All,

Is anyone running build 940? If so, are you experiencing any issues with Strategy Tester?

When I open Strategy Tester, the Visual checkbox, Sliding Bar, Skip to date and Modify Expert tab are all missing now.

UPDATE: I have rebooted my machine a couple of times and the actual MT 4 display is now slightly different (different size fonts etc). Good news is that all those functions are back.

For anyone who has a similar issue I'm still running Win7.

I have same problem too, when i want to check visual mode its gone.

Is anyone can fix this issue?

I´m running on Win 10 , Visual mode is gone , sliding bar , skip to date and Visual checkbox all gone.

Rebooting was not the solution for me.

Try maximising and then minimising each window and see if it appears.

nothing has changed.

I have the same issue. It's quite annoying.
Is it yet another nasty bug in MT4?

No pause or speed slider either

OK they are back after computer reboot

Mine lost for ever, even after reboot.
Also, in back test, in the "result" panel, for EURUSD, the price is displayed in 2 digits, such as 1.14, and SL TP are displayed without decimal, they are always 1 !

I think you can make those elements appear by slightly expanding the strategy tester window upwards.

I also noticed the strange rounding on the first test I ran after upgrading to build 940. I was about to raise a problem on the MQL Service Desk but decided to rerun the test. The second and all subsequent tests have shown correct rounding.

Same problem with digits here
Solution for me was to normalize the openprice of the order
NormalizeDouble(price,Digits);
After that the correct price was shown in the tester

That does the work. Visual mode is back. Thanks!
Also now testing shows correct rounding. CRAZY MT4.

Can confirm fonts are bigger in 940 - everything else seems OK
Not happy about the larger fonts though as it reduces screen space.

Out of interest, has anyone found that the Strategy Tester no longer runs smooth? If I run an EA through Visual Mode, the next bar does not print directly after the last one. Instead there is a momentary pause and then 10-15 bars print on the screen at once. If I try and slow it down by moving the slider bar slightly to the left it grinds to a halt !!!

This makes it difficult to follow the bars and to check whether my EA logic is working properly.

I've been using MT4 and learning MQL for over a year now and on each forced update the tester seems to get slower. I'm finding this so frustrating...!!!

I used to trade using Amibroker and although the platform wasn't free it was only around $300 and really solid & reliable. The thought of having to continue to use MT4 is making me question whether I want to pursue FX. As I am not a programmer I do not want to have to start again and learn yet another platform and its language.

I had the same issue with strategy tester. Try to change the windows size of the strategy builder.
