Hello All.
My name is David and I was curious what software is commonly used to analyze and sort through trading data in order to try to find an edge. I have been thinking that I know enough to get around with the technical analysis (Price Actions, S/R, Trendlines), but I am lacking an edge. I believe that if I am able to focus my time on obtaining this edge, I will be able apply the current technicals I know more efficiently.
By analyze I mean:
Probability of nth candle being bearish after x amount bullish candles?
Probability of candle continuing in the same direction after engulfing the previous candle?
Probability that a break of a range with x amount of candles will continue in that desired direction?
These are just examples. I know these are the basics, but I need to start somewhere. If anyone can shine some light are there any books/resources that can help me with this?
I am planning to cut down to one instrument, selecting one time frame, and working an edge of that specific instrument and timeframe.
Thoughts?
