I am trying to find the pros and cons of the top ten platforms in the industry. Please add your input.

1 Meta
2 ACT
3 Saxo
4 FXCM
5 Gain/Forex.trader
6 Oanda
7 CMC
8 GFT
9 FX Sol
10 MB trading / efx

I'm with FXsol and I like what they offer... The chart package Accucharts is great but the spreads could be tighter.
Metatrader is by far the best option for charting and backtesting purposes. I personally don't like any of the brokers that use Metatrader as their platform. However, I do have a demo account with Interbankfx, which I use for both charting and backtesting. My main broker is Oanda.

Definately because of the brokers. Most of them are small upstarts located outside of the U.S.. And all of them have dealing desks. But there's no denying the superiority of MetaTrader over other platforms.

Same here. I am just starting out and have been checking out MT4 brokers for the past 4 days and I don't like any of them. I wish you could integrate MT4 with oanda without having to fork out $600 a month. For now I have decided to do what you are doing, just using a demo account for metatrader and have a live with oanda.
