Organisation: How do you plan, record, or register your trades

If you consider yourself as well organized and structured, this question maybe for you. I'm not interested in your system or rules.

In my trading process, I lack of organization. I do try to plan ahead, but can't stick to a defined way to organized planned trade. So I lost focus and jump in a trade when I'm either too early or too late

So how do you
records organized your planned trade
If trade executed. managed modification to stop ( recording)
completed trades


I know that there is no universal way to do it. Just explaining how you do it may help me and others to properly and be better organized.

I use edgewonk, google it

For me its since i trade intraday (london/maybe new york session in the morning morning session only) this is what i do:

1.- Sunday: check the upcoming week high impact news and mark day/time of them (to avoid placing a trade at the wrong time even if there its a valid signal)

2.- Maybe mark some important turning points (support resistance) if they happened from previous week

3.- Monday: Get up and wait for the signal to place a trade

4.- Turn off PC and move one with my life

5.- Screenshot the result of yesterdays trade and see if i followed my rules or not

6.- Rinse and repeat point 1 to 5 every week..


Ohh !!! and withdraw once a month some profit made because i have to pay for life lol (my only income)

I also make sure to take screenshots of trade taken and the end point. I find this very useful and to save time, I do not record details if I have followed the rules and there was nothing extra unique things to record. I may add some quick notes to the image from time to time.

Since I also study, so I find that using myfxbook is a easy way to organize trades taken and keep some basic stats. I will only journal the unusual trades/ opportunity trades that are not according to set strategy rules.

Something you could try is to just record your voice ideas as an audio file of how you go about doing your trade and try speak out all the things you see and do and why you do them. Making sure to include screenshots as it may help

But screenshots for sure is a good start at organization which you can then link to an excel file.
