I have MT4 on my Surface Pro 3 for use when not at home, and on my main pc when at home. What I don't want to do is re-draw all my trendlines, fibs etc on every chart, every time I update it on the main pc.
So what I would like to do is simply copy the files over which contain the indicators for each chart. I don't want to copy the entire MT4 folder over because I use far less charts on the Surface due to its much smaller screen and copying the whole folder open means I have to go along closing and resizing everything again. I have also seen a suggestion that copying my MT4 to a dropbox account would allow me to simply use the same copy of MT4 on both the pc and Surface, but again my issue with this is the surface has a much smaller screen and I would be constantly resizing everything every time I switched (main pc has 9 charts up at once, the surface has 4).
So I am wondering if I can find the files that contain the indicator positioning for each pair, and just copy over those ones then I won't need to mess about closing charts and resizing everything every day. As far as I have been able to work out, the .hst files under the server folder are NOT the file that contain the indicator positions for each chart, I think they only contain the bar data and nothing for indicators, I know this because switching servers to a new server still keeps the same indicators on the chart, providing the symbol has the same name on the other broker/server. So the actual chart layout for the positioning of indicators on each chart must be stored elsewhere.
