Where does forexfactory get it's forecast informaton? There are sources for the actual figures, but what about the forecasts? How would I be able to confirm that they are correct forecasts?

Could be their own forecasts, but most likely the forecast figures are averaged from a wide range of professional economist and Bank sources in the same manner as how Reuters and Bloomberg average their own forecast figures.

Also, note that different aggregators will have their own averaging methodology, so therefore you may encounter differing forecast averages on different websites or sources.

You could ask Forex Factory yourself by contacting them directly.

What do you mean by "correct" forecasts? Did you mean if the forecasts where correctly sourced, or if the forecasts were accurately indicative of future price movement?

If it's the former, you won't know unless you have access to Forex Factory's source data prior to averaging (if averaging is what they do).

If it's the latter, then I think you're depending too much on the forecasts. Price will move to where it wants to go, not because of economic forecasts.
I'm not trying to convince anyone. I'm not in the "convincing" business.

Thanks. I did mean if they are correctly sourced. I wanted to be able to view some of the forecast information and see the method for how they came about.

But now when I think about equities and how analyst reports on earnings are not easily obtainable by retail investors, I guess it's not possible to see how forecasts are made without paying for analyst reports from some data source.
